Join Le Paul Gauguin for a voyage through the lush, mountainous islands scattered across the South Seas. From Papeete in Tahiti, discover the untouched beauty of Huahine, Fakarava, Rangiroa, Bora Bora, Taha'a, and Moorea, and the colourful marine life in their crystal clear waters.

Leaving Papeete, Le Paul Gauguin makes her way north west to Huahine, one of a string of heavenly islands on the itinerary; long, white sand beaches swept by palm fronds, an endless horizon of azure blue sea and serrated mountain tops wrapped in rich green jungle foliage. Unwind on this Garden isle, explore the island villages and ancient temples of Fakarava and dive in the lagoons of Rangiroa.

On Bora Bora, sea black pearl farms, along with good French restaurants and cyber cafés. Locals weave enjoyment of their lovely islands into daily life, and around Moorea there are plenty of the tiny islets - "motu" - where a short boat ride leads to the best possible picnic spots on deserted atoll beaches.

Society Islands and Tuamotus Itinerary

Day 1 - Papeete (Tahiti)

Embark Le Paul Gauguin.

Day 2 - Huahine (Society Islands)

Green and fertile Huahine is also known as the Garden Island. The long, sandy beaches, tropical vegetation and interesting archaeological sites are all easy to reach. Huahine consists of two islands connected by a bridge. 450 species of tropical fish live in the lagoon, making it an excellent diving and snorkelling site. While here you can cruise the expansive lagoon, explore the island's culture or picnic on the beach.

Day 3 - Bora Bora

Pulitzer Prize-winning author James Michener called Bora Bora "the most beautiful island in the world." Dominated by two towering volcanic mountains and surrounded by a lagoon protected by low-lying coral reefs, this is indeed a spectacular destination. The ship arrives here in the morning and remains until later afternoon, giving you a full day in this quintessential Pacific paradise.

Day 4 - Bora Bora

Today you might wish to explore the island with a number of activities, such as a tour of the island paradise that affords breathtaking island views. Or, glide over crystalline waters on a glass bottom boat to see the island's famous marine life without getting wet, take a thrilling helicopter ride over the ship and island, or simply spend a few hours lolling on the island's beautiful beach.

Day 5 - Rangiroa (Tuamotus)

The Tuamotus atoll of Rangiroa is a superb diving destination, with a lagoon full of rays, reef fish and dolphin. It is accessed through a fast-moving ocean pass, and beyond the reef there are tuna, schools of sharks and eagle rays. Head for L'ile Aux Recifs to see the fossilized coral formations. Ashore, explore coral churches and the villages of Avatoru and Tiputa.

Day 6 - Fakarava

Known in the days before modern navigation as the "Dangerous Archipelago" for its shallow passages the Tuamotus islands are a diver's paradise. You'll call first on Fakarava, whose diverse ecosystem has earned it the designation of a UNESCO-Classified Nature Reserve. There are two massive passes on the island where experienced divers can descend up to 130 feet into a world of cauliflower coral, gray sharks, and fish schooling by the thousands. Or stay on land and explore the island's charming villages, ancient temples, and 19th-century coral church.

Day 7 - At Sea

Relax onboard and enjoy the facilities on Paul Gauguin.

Day 8 - Taha'a (Society Islands)

Motu Mahana, an islet adjacent to Taha'a, is Paul Gauguin's very own South Seas paradise, with white-sand beaches, swaying palms, crystal-clear waters, and gentle breezes. As an exclusive Paul Gauguin event, you will spend a full day on this idyllic island doing exactly as you please. Relax in the shade of a palm tree, engage in a game of volleyball, snorkel in the motu's turquoise lagoons and enjoy a delicious al fresco barbecue lunch with Polynesian entertainment.

Day 9 - Moorea

Covered in an abundance of fresh fruits and flowers, spectacular mountain peaks, peaceful multi-hued lagoons, and palm-fringed beaches, Moorea has a magnificent beauty which is unsurpassed. White-sand beaches lapped by the translucent shimmering lagoon water and shaded by palm, coconut, and ironwood groves stretch for miles. During your visit, you might wish to take an optional ride around the island to admire the stunning views.

Day 10 - Moorea - Papeete (Tahiti)

Perhaps today you will try an optional Lagoon snorkelling excursion among the staggering amount of fish species that call Moorea's waters home. Or simply relax and revel in the island's natural splendour. Late this afternoon, the ship casts off for Tahiti's capital, where you'll enjoy a final overnight.
