What is the dress code?
During the day on board and ashore dress is casual and comfortable, including shorts, jeans, and sturdy shoes for walking tours. Swimsuits, brief shorts, cover-ups and exercise attire should be reserved for poolside and in the gym. For evenings, while there are no “formal nights,” the recommended on board dress is Elegant Casual for most restaurants, performances or other special events. Suggested attire for ladies includes a dress, skirt or slacks with a sweater or blouse; for gentlemen, trousers and a collared shirt. A tie and jacket are optional, but not required. Dinner in The World Café remains comfortable and casual, with daytime dress deemed appropriate.
How do I book dining reservations?
Dining reservations are available for each venue based on stateroom category and can be made online prior to departure or while on board. For your top choice and priority reservations, consider staying in a Suite or Junior Suite. For more information click here to see the details of stateroom categories.
How do I pre-book shore excursions?
Depending on your stateroom category, shore excursions may be reserved beginning 90 days before your cruise sails.

Complimentary Wi-Fi access is available throughout the ship so you can remain connected.
Are there refrigerators in individual staterooms?
Each stateroom is equipped with a mini-fridge. Depending on your stateroom category, your mini-fridge may be replenished daily with soft drinks, water, and snacks—possibly even alcoholic beverages.
What is the electrical voltage in the staterooms?
For your convenience, 110-volt (American current) and 220-volt (European current) outlets are provided in all Viking Star staterooms, accommodating small appliances without the use of adapters or electric converters.

Can you accommodate my dietary restrictions?
In most cases we can. Every meal has vegetarian options and our chefs will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests. Guests requiring special diets—low salt, diabetic, gluten-free and low cholesterol —should alert us 90 days prior to departure and inform the Maître d’ when on board.
Can I upgrade the complimentary beverages?
Yes. Viking Inclusive Cruising offers complimentary wine, beer, and soft drinks with on board lunch and dinner. Plus, specialty coffees and teas are available, with our compliments, 24 hours a day. For those who would like to complement their voyage with additional cocktails or premium wines and spirits, Viking offers the Silver Spirits beverage package. Ask for details when making your reservation.
Do you have dry cleaning and laundry facilities?
Dry cleaning and laundry services, including pressing, are available with charge and may be arranged through your Housekeeper. Self-service laundries including irons and ironing boards are located on Decks 3-6. Self-service laundry is free of charge, with detergent provided.
Are Viking Ocean ships non-smoking?
All Viking ship interiors, staterooms and balconies are non-smoking. Each ship has an outdoor smoking area.
How will payments on board be handled?
Although most services are included in your cruise fare, discretionary purchases will be charged to a shipboard account. These accounts, along with all prices and currency on board the ship, are in US dollars and may be settled with US dollars or a major credit card before disembarking the ship. You can also pay in cash with GBP and Euro.
Can you accommodate a disabled passenger? What about the shore excursions?
Viking Cruises welcomes disabled guests but wishes all guests to understand that challenges will exist on board and during shore excursions. Viking Star has elevators, but there may still be thresholds that could make movement difficult. Shore excursions may require movement over cobblestones or up and down stairs; accordingly, a physically challenged guest will require the services of a responsible adult since crew availability is limited. Guests need to provide their own wheelchairs, except in an emergency. Motorized scooters are not typically suited on international cruises and cannot be accommodated.
Guests who have any medical, physical or other special needs should check the fleet information on our website to gain an understanding of the layout of any particular ship, and should contact us with additional questions.
When will we receive our final documents?
Travel documents or itinerary details will be issued approximately 3 weeks prior to departure. If you need to receive your documents sooner, we can accommodate you. If you will be away from home or need your documents sent to a different location for any reason, please be sure that we know where to send them.
