Kwai River Cruises
Experience Thailand in a whole new way on a truly unique cruise along the River Kwai. Journey through history with visits to Buddhist temples and ancient monasteries, and learn how WWII affected the country.
The picturesque River Kwai is just a few hours from Bangkok and is rich with magnificent scenery, flora and bird life. The town of Kanchanaburi is famous for its main attraction, the River Kwai Bridge, which was immortalised in the film Bridge on the River Kwai. Kanchanaburi is a centre of pilgrimage for war veterans from all the countries involved in the Death Railway, including Japan, and is home to the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre. Cruising upstream, the scenery changes dramatically as the jungle closes in and the mountains rise up. Sail past dramatic gorges, deep pools and cascading waterfalls draped with orchids.
Admire spectacular stalactites and stalagmites on visits to hidden caves, discover ancient temples at Mueang Sing Historical Park and see the Death Railway memorial complex at Hell Fire Pass. The ship cruises as far as Daowadung, where expedition vehicles take passengers to the lake above and the surrounding national park area where the predominant ethnic group are the Mons. On each cruise a Mon dance troupe performs in the evening for an authentic Thai experience. The river is a popular rafting and kayaking destination.
Golf Cruises
Play at some of the best golf courses in Thailand during the River Kwai cruise including the Evergreen Hills Golf Club & Resort, the River Kwai Golf & Country Club and the Green World Hot Spring Resort & Golf Club. The River Kwai Golf Cruise includes a round of golf at up to 6 courses.
