Itinerary
Day 1Buenos Aires (Argentina)
Embark ship in Buenos Aires. Argentina's capital has a fascinating dual heritage - part European, part Latin American.
Day 2Montevideo (Uruguay)
Uruguay’s capital city hugs the eastern bank of the Río de la Plata. A coastal promenade (malecón) passes fine beaches, restaurants and numerous parks and is popular with Montevideans strolling, exercising and lounging along the water. Montevideo's glitzy shopping avenues contrast with its historic old city and sumptuous colonial architecture.
Day 3-4At sea
Enjoy the ship's facilities on relaxing days at sea.
Day 5Santos (Brazil)
Santos is the main port for São Paulo, Brazil’s largest city, with a dazzling variety of museums and galleries, as well as hundreds of monuments and memorials.
Day 6Abraao, Ilha Grande
Ilha Grande was once a notorious pirate den but today is a tranquil island where mountain peaks clad in virgin Atlantic rainforest provide a perfect backdrop to an abundance of superb beaches. There are no private cars on the island, so transport is either by foot or by boat. It’s possible to walk along through the rainforest from beach to beach including Praia Lopes Mendes, named one of the world’s most beautiful beaches, and picture-postcard Adventureiro beach. The water is warm and clear, and snorkelling is easy and rewarding. All energy used on the island is generated from renewable sources.
Day 7Rio de Janeiro
Synonymous with the Christ the Redeemer statue atop Corcovado mountain and flamboyant Carnival celebrations, Rio is a city of stunning architecture, superb museums, and marvellous cuisine. Rio is also home to 23 beaches, an almost continuous 45-mile ribbon of sand. Copacabana's sunny Avenida Atlântica is flanked on one side by white beach and azure sea and on the other by condominiums and hotels.
Day 8Rio de Janeiro
Disembark ship in Rio de Janeiro.
