A Taste of Caledonia

• Day 1 Inverness

  Embark Lord of the Highlands.

• Day 2 Inverness - Culloden - Fort Augustus

  Embark in Inverness where the infamous battlefield of Culloden is haunted with the souls of fallen warriors of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s Jacobite forces which were defeated in 1746. We set sail at lunchtime along the Caledonian Canal, built between 1803 and 1822 to connect the Great Glen’s four lochs, and ascend the impressive series of locks which runs through Fort Augustus.

• Day 3 Glenfinnan

  Cruise the Caledonian Canal and transit Neptune’s Staircase. At Glenfinnan we visit the iconic monument honouring the fallen Jacobite clansmen, framed by spectacular Highland scenery.

• Day 4 Tobermory, Isle of Mull

  Sail Loch Linnhe and the Sound of Mull out into open sea to the colourful harbour town of Tobermory on Mull.

• Day 5 Isle of Iona

  On Iona, the tranquility of the restored Benedictine Abbey awaits, standing on the site of the monastery founded by St Columba.

• Day 6 Oban

  Our final port of call is Oban, where the folly of McCaig’s Tower affords panoramic view over the bay to the Atlantic Islands and Dunstaffnage Castle, the mighty stronghold of the MacDougalls overlooks the Firth of Lorn.

• Day 7 Oban

  Disembark Lord of the Highlands.
