Embark and disembark in Lyon for a magical cruise on the Rhone. Sail through the beautiful countryside of Southern France, calling at Avignon, famous for its Palace of the Popes and its ‘pont’, Viviers, episcopal 5th century city, Tain l’Hermitage and its Cotes du Rhone wine, and the Roman city of Vienne.There are optional excursions in Camargue and to the Ardeche Gorges, allowing you to fully experience the exceptional beauty of this renowned region of France.

LYL - River Rhone Itinerary

Day 1 - Lyon (France)

Embark at 4pm in Lyon. This evening enjoy a welcome cocktail, followed by dinner and an evening on board as we cruise overnight.

Day 2 - Arles

Today we cruise alongside the beautiful landscapes of the South of France and then arrive in Arles (could be replaced dependent on lock schedule) from where there is an optional coach tour of the Camargue, a sprawling marshland inhabited by extraordinary wildlife, especially flamingoes. Alternatively, take an optional safari ride in jeeps through the Camargue for an immersion in the wilderness. There is an additional optional excursion - a guided tour of Arles.

Day 3 - Avignon - Viviers

Arrive in Avignon after breakfast. Enjoy an optional guided tour of the Cite des Papes, the ancient citadel palace of the Popes in Avignon. At the base of the palace you can admire the Saint-Bézenet bridge, better known as the “Pont d’Avignon”. Alternatively, take an optional hike along the Pont du Gard and visit the museum. This afternoon there is an optional tour of the Ardeche Gorges.

Day 4 - Tain L'Hermitage

Breakfast on board as the ship cruises early this morning. In the afternoon there is an optional excursion to Vercors. Travel by coach towards Die and pay a visit to a wine cellar to taste the famous Clairette de Die. Continue towards Vassieux-en-Vercors, the Vault in Vercors and the Pont-en-Royans. Rejoin the ship in Tain l'Hermitage. Dinner and gala evening before the ship sails back to Lyon.

Day 5 - Lyon

Enjoy breakfast while cruising before arriving in Lyon in the morning at around 9am. Disembark.

For navigational reasons the Captain of the ship reserves the right to modify the cruise itinerary
