A magnificent cruise indeed as you follow the route of emperors and kings on your exciting European journey along three great rivers through five fascinating countries! Begin in Amsterdam and travel on the Rhine to Cologne, with its breathtaking Cathedral.

Visit the historic wine town of Koblenz, cruise through the beautiful Rhine Gorge and then on to the Main River. Marvel at the engineering wonders of the Main-Danube Canal as you traverse Europe's Continental Divide by ship.

Discover the culture and traditions of grand old capitals such as Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest. Along the way, discover perfectly preserved medieval towns and Europe's picturesque countryside, filled with quaint villages and fairy-tale castles.

Magnificent Europe Itinerary

Day 1 - Amsterdam (Holland)

Embark the ship and meet your fellow passengers at the Welcome Dinner. (D)

Day 2 - Amsterdam

Enjoy a guided canal boat tour and see the beautiful 18th-century houses and charming churches. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - Cologne (Germany)

On a walking tour of Cologne see the old parts of the city and the magnificent 13th century Gothic cathedral. Alternatively, enjoy a tasting of the city's famous Kolsch beer at a local tavern or join a guided bike ride along the Rhine. (B,L,D)

Day 4 - Rudesheim

Cruise through the dramatic Rhine Gorge past the legendary Lorelei Rock and arrive in the wine-producing town of Rudesheim. Explore Siegfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum, enjoy a gondola ride to the Niederwalddenkmal Statue, enjoy wine tasting on a walking tour through vineyards (forward itinerary only) or sample the town's famous Rudesheimer Coffee. Day 5 - Miltenberg - Wertheim

Enjoy a walking tour of Miltenberg, an old Franconian town with narrow cobblestone streets and half-timbered houses or perhaps join a guided hike. The ship will then dock in Wertheim where you can opt for a guided walking tour or a pretzel-making demonstration. (B,L,D)

Day 6 - Wurzburg

Take a guided tour of Wurzburg this morning or visit the magnificent Residenz Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Alternatively, head to Rothenburg, best preserved medieval town in Germany. (B,L,D)

Day 7 - Bamberg

Take a guided walking tour of Bamberg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and see the cathedral, the Old Town and the 18th century mansions, take a guided bike tour or sample some of Bamberg's famous smoked beer, licorice root and Hornla before continuing to Nuremberg. (B,L,D)

Day 8 - Nuremberg

In Nuremberg choose between a tour of its medieval history including the Imperial Castle or join the 'modern tour' to see the city's role in the 20th century including the Zeppelin field and Justice Palace. Alternatively sample delicious regional delights on a Franconian Specialties tasting. (B,L,D)

Day 9 - Regensburg

See the Old Town Hall and Porta Praetoria gates on a guided tour of Regensburg, cycle through the spectacular Danube Valley or sample the city's famous sausage, beer and pretzels. (B,L,D)

Day 10 - Passau (Austria)

Explore Passau, a 2000 year old city at the confluence of the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers. Stroll through the cobblestone streets of the Old Town on a walking tour and see St Stephen's Cathedral which has the largest cathedral organ in the world. Alternatively enjoy a bike tour or a guided hike up to the Veste Oberhaus fortress. (B,L,D)

Day 11 - Melk - Durnstein

Cruise through the Wachau Valley to Melk for a guided tour of the magnificent Benedictine Abbey this morning before cruising to Durnstein, or cycle along the Danube from Melk to Durnstein. See the blue facade of the Baroque Stiftskirche and sample several local wines on a walking tour. There is the option to hike up to the fortress which once imprisoned Richard the Lionheart, or visit a local apricot grower for the chance to sample the region's finest apricot produce. (B,L,D)

Day 12 - Vienna

See the musical city of Vienna on a tour taking in the Vienna Opera House, Ringstrasse and St Stephen's Cathedral or a walking tour of the Old Town. There is also the option of a guided bike ride or a tour of Vienna's hidden wonders. Explore at leisure this afternoon or join a guided bike ride to Klosterneuburg Monastery. (B,L,D)

Day 13 - Bratislava (Slovakia)

Today choose from a walking tour which includes the Old Town Hall, Mirbach Palace and the gothic cathedral, a Slovakian Specialties tasting and a hike up to Bratislava Castle. Explore at leisure this afternoon. (B,L,D) Please note the 2021 itinerary does not visit Bratislava

Day 14 - Budapest (Hungary)

Your guided tour today takes you to both Buda and Pest to see the historic Buda Castle, Fisherman's Bastion and St Stephen's Basilica. Alternatively there is a hike up to Castle Hill for fabulous views (forward itinerary only). Tonight enjoy a Farewell Dinner before a special 'Illuminations Cruise' along the river. (B,L,D)

Day 15 - Budapest

Disembark in Budapest after breakfast. (B)
