The Heart Of The Amazon Itinerary
Day 1 - Manaus (Brazil)
Embark your ship in Manaus, the largest city in the Amazon. It is situated on the Rio Negro, not far from where it meets the Rio Solimoes to form the Amazon. It is home to the Teatro Amazonas, an Italian Renaissance Opera House which once hosted world-famous artists.
Days 2-9 - Amazon River
Enjoy an unforgettable eight days cruising the mighty Amazon River past dense rainforest. Each day, the Captain and Expedition Leader will determine the activities based on water levels and other conditions. They will plot Zodiac trips as well as guided hikes and optional kayaking adventures. The Expedition Team will also share their knowledge and expertise on board the ship, offering insights into the terrain and wildlife. Keep an eye out for sloths, river dolphins, macaws and glass frogs.
Day 11 - Iquitos (Peru)
Disembark the ship in Iquitos, the largest city in the world which cannot be reached by road. It thrived during the rubber boom and is home to the unique Iron House.
