Itinerary
Day 1Venice (Italy)
Embark Le Lyrial in Venice.
Day 2Korcula (Croatia)
Korcula is a forested island with a charming old walled town. Enter through one of the city gates to see delightful squares and narrow alleys, which lead to the house where Marco Polo is said to have been born. Cafés along the city walls look out across the blue Adriatic and the medieval white stone towers offer a stunning contrast to the orange-red roofs of the houses and the blue Adriatic.
Day 3Sibenik - Split
Sibenik is one of Croatia's oldest cities, and around the lovely City Square are the magnificent St James' Cathedral, the Dukes and Bishops Palaces and a Venetian Loggia. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Split is renowned for its variety of archaeological, historical and cultural monuments - the Roman Diocletian's Palace is at the heart of the town, with thriving markets, shops and cafés inside its walls.
Day 4Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik, known as the 'Pearl of the Adriatic', is considered the most beautiful city in Croatia with well-preserved medieval palaces and city walls. It has a strong Mediterranean flavour, with cafés and seafood restaurants along the marble-paved Stradun. Walk the city walls and see the Pile Gate and perhaps visit the 15th century Dominican Monastery and Sponza Palace.
Day 5Kotor (Montenegro)
Sail to the lovely fortified town of Kotor which sits in a dramatic bay surrounded by limestone massifs in a magnificent region of Montenegro. Kotor's city walls enclose a well-preserved medieval centre, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. St Tryphon's Cathedral is decorated with 14th-century frescoes.
Day 6Hvar (Croatia)
Hvar is the longest, sunniest and perhaps most beautiful Croatian island. Along the palm-fringed harbour are bars and restaurants. Perhaps see the unfinished Gothic palace of Hektorivic, the Cathedral of St. Stephan, the Franciscan monastery and the pretty loggia. There are many small pebbled beaches along the coast.
Day 7Hvar - Rovinj
Depart late afternoon for Rovinj, a pretty and interesting old town with small squares bordered by Gothic and Venetian palaces.
Day 8Venice (Italy)
Disembark Le Lyrial in Venice.
