Join your ship in Longyearbyen in the Svalbard archipelago, renowned for its stunning scenery and varied wildlife including polar bears and walrus. Sail south to the volcanic island of Jan Mayen, a nature reserve so remote that few have been fortunate enough to explore it. Continue to Greenland’s east coast, cruising deep into Scoresbysund to explore the world’s largest fjord system. Sailing under the midnight sun to Reykjavik is a fitting finale to this epic expedition voyage.

Day 1Longyearbyen (Spitsbergen)
Embark your ship in Longyearbyen.
Days 2-5Spitsbergen
Spitsbergen is the largest island in the Norwegian Svalbard archipelago and offers abundant wildlife and outstanding natural beauty. You may be lucky enough to see walrus, polar bears and Svalbard reindeer. Bird lovers will be thrilled to see arctic terns, skuas and kittiwakes, to name but a few. If conditions permit, you could sail within 10 degrees of the North Pole!
Days 6-7At sea
As you sail south towards Jan Mayen, your Expedition Team will keep you informed with presentations about the fascinating wildlife, geology, ecology and climate, and the incredible sights that await. On deck, you’ll learn to identify seabirds and keep an eye out for whales.
Days 8-9Jan Mayen Island
Jan Mayen in the North Atlantic Ocean is often shrouded in thick fog. This natural reserve is rarely visited and landing here will be determined by the weather conditions. The Beerenberg volcano has impressive glaciers which flow into the sea. You may be able to get a good view of the volcano and the cliffs as you cruise by Zodiac around the island, which is home to breeding seabirds.
Days 10-14Scoresbysund (Greenland)
There will be plenty of opportunities to explore ashore or by Zodiac. Discover the remains of ancient Thule settlements and meet the locals in Ittoqqortoormiit to learn about their way of life. You'll have the chance to purchase unique handicrafts. In terms of wildlife, you may be able to see muskoxen, polar bears and arctic hares, as well as seabirds.
Days 15-16At sea
Enjoy a lecture with the Expedition Team as you spend time at sea cruising the Denmark Strait towards Iceland.
Day 17Reykjavik (Iceland)
Disembark in the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik.
