During this exciting expedition across the North Atlantic, you'll discover rugged beauty and rich history, visiting the unspoiled destinations of Fair Isle, the Faroe Islands, Jan Mayen and Spitsbergen.
Soaring fjords, glistening glaciers and coastal cliffs will definitely take your breath away, as will the diverse wildlife of these far-flung regions. Travelling under the Midnight Sun for part of the voyage means optimum chances to see wildlife in their natural habitat.
From Aberdeen, cruise to Fair Isle, the UK's most remote inhabited island. Admire the sea stacks, natural arches and caves, and keep an eye out for orcas and Atlantic puffins. Continue to the unspoiled Faroe Islands where verdant pastures give way to rugged cliffs. Explore the outer islands of the archipelago where villages have colourful turf-topped houses, and visit Torshavn, one of the world's smallest capitals.
North of the Arctic Circle is mysterious Jan Mayen, often shrouded in thick fog. You'll hopefully visit Olonkinbyen, named after Russian-Norwegian polar explorer Gennady Olonkin, and maybe the black sand beach at Kvalrossbukta with its remains of a 17th-century Dutch whaling station. Three days in Spitsbergen, the largest island in the Svalbard archipelago, is a fitting finale to this exciting voyage. From majestic glaciers to polar deserts, the landscape here is as varied as the wildlife, which includes Svalbard reindeer and auks.
