After a luxury overnight stay in Buenos Aires sail from Ushuaia through the famous Drake Passage to spend six days exploring the towering mountains, enormous glaciers and thriving wildlife of Antarctica. Possible landings include picturesque Deception Island and idyllic Neko Harbour, both home to colonies of penguins.

Spend the time exploring these amazing landscapes by kayak, Zodiac, helicopter (extra cost) and submarine (extra cost), and visit historic sites and scientific stations on this adventure of a lifetime. Sail back to Argentina for an overnight hotel stay in Buenos Aires.

Antarctica in Depth Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Buenos Aires (Argentina)

Fly overnight to Buenos Aires.

Day 2 - Buenos Aires

Enjoy an overnight hotel stay in Buenos Aires, famous for its outstanding cultural life and its European-influenced architecture.

Day 3 - Buenos Aires - Ushuaia

Fly from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia and embark Scenic Eclipse. Depart late afternoon and begin the journey by sailing down the picturesque Beagle Channel.

Days 4-5 - Crossing the Drake Passage

Look around and behold the cape petrels flying about the ship, majestic albatross soaring on the wind, and Wilson's storm petrels skipping along the ocean surface. The on-board Discovery Team enlightens you about Antarctica and its natural history, bringing the journey to life with their impressive experience and knowledge of the region.

Days 6-11 - Antarctic Peninsula

Voyage overnight along the Gerlache Strait to the breathtaking Antarctica Peninsula, a land as vast as it is magical. Set out on Zodiacs, kayaks, helicopters (extra cost) or submarines (extra cost), and venture to penguin rookeries, historic sites and scientific stations, and cruise around majestic icebergs. Discover secluded bays via kayak, plunge below the surface to underwater kingdoms by submarine, and circle above incredible inland vistas in a helicopter. Keep your eyes peeled for local leopard seals snacking among the icebergs, and later, step ashore for a moment you’ll never forget.

Days 12-13 - At sea

Soak in the incredible array of Antarctic experiences as we head north across the Drake Passage. Luxuriate on board as you watch seabirds and aquatic life, capture once-in-a-lifetime photos, and share the knowledge of our world leading Discovery Team.

Day 14 - Ushuaia, Argentina - Buenos Aires

Relax on an early morning cruise along the Beagle Channel. Disembark after breakfast for the flight back to Buenos Aires and an overnight hotel stay.

Day 15 - Buenos Aires - UK

After breakfast transfer to the airport for the return flight to the UK.

Day 16 - UK

Arrive back in the UK.
