After an overnight hotel stay in the Chilean city of Punta Arenas, fly across the legendary Drake Passage to King George Island in Antarctica. This is the fastest and most direct way to the White Continent and means you can start exploring sooner. Enjoy insightful lectures from the Expedition Team as well as thrilling Zodiac landings, taking you up-close to colonies of penguins, playful whales and majestic icebergs. Every day promises to be different and a real adventure.

You may be lucky enough to cross the Antarctic Circle, an impressive achievement, before cruising along the western Antarctic Peninsula back to King George Island. Fly back to Punta Arenas for an overnight hotel stay, before bidding farewell to your fellow travellers.

Antarctic Express: Crossing the Circle Itinerary

Day 1 - Punta Arenas (Chile)

Transfer from the airport to hotel for an overnight stay in Punta Arenas. Be met by a Quark representative at your hotel, where you'll enjoy a welcome dinner and briefing.

Day 2 - King George Island (Antarctica)

Board your charter flight from Punta Arenas to King George Island in Antarctica. As you fly over the Drake Passage, enjoy a first glimpse of the dramatic Antarctic landscapes. After landing, transfer by Zodiac to the ship.

Days 3-5 - Antarctic Peninsula - South Shetland Islands

Antarctica can only be fully appreciated through your own eyes. The team of expert lecturers will provide fascinating insights into the glaciology, history and wildlife of the region. You will also enjoy exciting Zodiac landings. Each is different and an incredible experience. See majestic icebergs, colonies of penguins and playful whales.

Days 6-7 - Antarctic Circle

Crossing the Antarctic Circle is an impressive achievement, as most ships do not reach 66°33´ S. If conditions allow us to cross this famed line, you will celebrate in style with sparkling wine. This is raw Antarctica and where you'll find some of the most incredible ice formations anywhere on the continent.

Days 8-9 - Antarctic Peninsula

Continue to explore by Zodiac or on land as you cruise along the western Antarctic Peninsula. The Expedition Team will be on the lookout for wildlife.

Day 10 - King George Island - Punta Arenas (Chile)

Disembark and fly back across the Drake Passage to Punta Arenas in Chile for an overnight hotel stay. Evening is at leisure.

Day 11 - Punta Arenas

After breakfast, check-out of the hotel.
