Alaska Inside Passage Itinerary
Day 1 - Seattle (USA)
Embark ship in Seattle.
Day 2 - Anacortes
The picturesque waterfront town of Anacortes is located on Fidalgo Island and is home to Deception Pass, one of the most photographed places in north west America. Visit the Skagit County Historical Museum in nearby La Conner then visit the SeaBear Smokehouse for an exclusive tour and tasting of its famous smoked salmon, or enjoy a tour Anacortes accompanied by a local guide.
Day 3 - Friday Harbour
Pretty Friday Harbour is a small coastal fishing village with historic houses and Coast Salish native carvings. Enjoy a guided tour of the Whale Museum to learn more about these marine mammals. An optional, supplementary tour of San Juan Island with a visit to an alpaca farm and a trip to an active lighthouse is also available.
Day 4 - Cruising the Strait of Georgia
Admire the natural beauty of the Strait of Georgia where hundreds of rivers flow into the sea.
Day 5 - Cruising the Queen Charlotte Strait
Enjoy relaxing cruising through the Queen Charlotte Strait where there is the chance to spot orcas, harbour seals and sea lions.
Day 6 - Cruising the Inside Passage and Frederick Sound (Alaska)
Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day cruising the Inside Passage and Frederick Sound. Surrounded by majestic mountains, this is the perfect place to spot humpback whales, bears and Sitka black-tailed deer.
Day 7 - Ketchikan
Remote Ketchikan is the perfect place to learn about the rich Alaskan native culture and see Native American totem poles. Travel by duck boat to see the local fishing fleet, seaplane docks and the salmon ladder on Ketchikan Creek.
Day 8 - Wrangell
Wrangell is surrounded by mountains, islands and rainforest. Enjoy an exciting jet boat tour along the historic Stikine river which is home to a wide range of wildlife including moose, bald eagles and bears, or discover Wrangell's Native American culture with visits to Petroglyph Beach and Wrangell Museum.
Day 9 - Petersburg
Founded more than 100 years ago by Norwegian fishermen, Petersburg is a thriving fishing community that maintains its strong Norwegian heritage and continues to make its living from the sea. Enjoy a guided walk of the docks, accompanied by local fishermen and fishery biologists, or tour the Clausen Museum to learn about those who have lived and worked in Petersburg.
Day 10 - Tracy Arm - South Sawyer Glacier
Sail through the magnificent Tracy Arm fjord to the South Sawyer Glacier, accompanied by the on-board naturalist, and see hundreds of waterfalls cascading down the cliffsides.
Day 11 - Glacier Bay
Glacier Bay comprises huge glaciers and snow-capped mountains. Today a National Park Service Ranger joins the ship to provide expert narration whilst cruising through Glacier Bay. Stop at a magnificent tidewater glacier where there may be the chance to hear a calving glacier. A Huna Tlingit Cultural Interpreter will also come on board to share fascinating stories of the area's native people.
Day 12 - Glaicer Bay or Haines
Join a historic walking tour of Haines (reverse itinerary only) to learn about the long history of the Chilkat Valley and the challenges of living in remote Alaska, or accompany expert local naturalists to the Chilkoot Valley for the chance to see brown bears, whales, seals and bald eagles. On the forward itinerary from Seattle there will be an extra day spent in Glacier Bay.
Day 13 - Skagway
Discover the thrill of the gold rush in the atmospheric frontier town of Skagway, gateway to the Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park. Enjoy a ride on the White Pass and Yukon Railroad, a bus tour on the stunning Klondike Highway and time at leisure to explore historic Skagway.
Day 14 - Juneau - Mendenhall Glacier
Discover the gold-rush history of the town on a guided tour with a visit to the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center where you can explore this immense glacier.
Day 15 - Juneau
Disembark ship in Juneau.
