Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard and Highland clans in an attempt to reclaim the thrones of Scotland, England and Ireland in the name of his father. This cruise explores the beautiful Inner and Outer Hebrides, plus remote west coast where it took place.
Join Hebridean Princess in Oban and cruise around Ardnamurchan, the most westerly point of mainland Britain, en route to Glenuig for a visit to the impressive Glenfinnan Monument. Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard at the monument to gather the Jacobite Clans for his '45 rising. Next, cross the sea to picturesque Skye and enjoy a tour of the Trotternish peninsula taking in the Museum of Island Life and Flora MacDonald's memorial.
Cross the Sound of Raasay and see where Bonnie Prince Charlie hid from British troops following his defeat at Culloden, before continuing to the magnificent Raasay House and recently opened distillery. Over The Minch to Stornoway and a tour of Lewis awaits. Highlights include St Moluag's Church, Carloway Broch, and Standing Stones of Callanish.
Watch a traditional tweed weaving demonstration on Harris, pick up the Prince's trail at Eriskay visiting the beach where he first stepped ashore on British soil, and enjoy a call at colourful Tobermory on Mull. Duart Castle, home of Clan Maclean, is the perfect end to this voyage, and there is a champagne reception hosted by the current clan chief, Sir Lachlan Maclean.
