Spain and Portugal Itinerary

Day 1 - Liverpool (UK)

Embark Magellan in Liverpool.

Day 2 - Dublin (Ireland)

Dublin is the capital of the Emerald Isle and boasts a superb mix of medieval, Georgian and modern architecture. The city is home to Dublin Castle, Trinity College and majestic Four Courts. Perhaps cross the Ha’penny Bridge, one of Dublin’s most famous landmarks.

Day 3 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 4 - La Coruña for Santiago de Compostela (Spain)

La Coruna, nicknamed the Crystal City, is situated in the beautiful region of Galicia. Perhaps admire the glass-fronted buildings along the seafront promenade and the Torre del Hercules lighthouse, peruse the beautiful old streets in Ciudad Vieja and explore the colonnaded Maria Pita Square.

Day 5 - At Sea

Day 6 - Cádiz for Seville

Believed to be one of Europe's oldest cities, it is from Cadiz that Spain's many galleons once sailed in quest of New World treasure. Admire its ancient palaces and castles, cathedrals and churches, museums and gardens. The picturesque old city looks quite Moorish in appearance with its narrow cobbled streets and small squares. From Cadiz you can reach the beautiful city of Seville with its impressive Gothic Cathedral and the Alcazar which was the palace of Spanish kings for nearly seven centuries.

Day 7 - Gibraltar

Gibraltar and Mt Abyla were known as the Pillars of Hercules in ancient times. Today it is a renowned headland under British rule. Keep an eye out for the famous Barbary apes that live on the island and perhaps enjoy a cable car ride for panoramic views across to Africa.

Day 8 - Casablanca for Marrakech (Morocco)

Casablanca is the largest city in Morocco full of vibrant boulevards and colourful bazaars, and with a history going back centuries. Following an earthquake in 1755 the town was rebuilt and renamed Dar Al Beida (The White House) in Arabic, which the Spanish eventually translated as Casablanca. The French gave Casablanca its wide boulevards, public parks and imposing civic buildings. why not explore the medina and the Habbous souk district selling all manner of items. The astonishing Hassan II Mosque dominates the entire city. It has the world's tallest minaret and the prayer hall can accommodate 25,000.

Day 9 - At Sea

Day 10 - Lisbon (Portugal)

The Portuguese capital has a quirky charm and much character. The steep, cobbled streets of the ancient Moorish Alfama district lead to wonderful viewpoints looking over the city. Perhaps enjoy a visit to the unique four-storey Belem Tower fortress, the breathtaking Jeronimos Monastery or the modern Monument to the Discoveries, shaped like the prow of a sailing ship. Lisbon's magnificent harbour is spanned by the longest suspension bridge in Europe.

Days 11-12 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on relaxing days at sea.

Day 13 - Liverpool (UK)

Disembark Magellan in Liverpool.
