On this incredible cruise along Norway’s beautiful coastline by day you have the opportunity to try your hand at wintry experiences, and by night, if atmospheric conditions are right, you have the chance to witness the incredible Northern Lights. An amazing display of purple, blue, pink and green light dancing across the night sky, the spectacular Aurora Borealis is one of nature’s greatest wonders.

Call at Rotterdam en-route to Norway where the first stop is Bergen which is renowned for its colourful Bryggen wharf. See the beautiful architecture and historical sites in Trondheim and in Narvik, there is the chance to ride a cable car up Narvikfjellet Mountain for a bird's eye view of the town. Tromso is home to the magnificent Arctic Cathedral and an overnight stop in Alta allows ample time to search for the magical Aurora Borealis and visit the town's old markets and pretty harbour. Discover the Art Nouveau-style city of Ålesund with its spectacular setting and backdrop of mountain peaks, and explore Stavanger's maritime history and traditional whitewashed 18th-century houses.

Norway the Land of the Northern Lights Itinerary

Day 1 - London Tilbury (UK)

Embark ship in London Tilbury.

Day 2 - Rotterdam (Holland)

Call at Rotterdam, whose architecture is an intriguing mix of old and new with modern glass skyscrapers standing side-by-side with buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Day 3 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 4 - Bergen (Norway)

Known as the Gateway to the Fjords, Bergen has a picturesque setting against a backdrop of seven mountains. The funicular ride to the summit of Mount Fløien provides superb views of Bergen and Norway’s beautiful coastline. Overlooking the harbour colourful Bryggen Wharf, with its characteristic wooden gabled buildings, is the face of Bergen.

Day 5 - Trondheim

Explore Trondheim, Norway's first capital with its low timbered buildings, picturesque wooden bridge and gothic-style Nidaros Cathedral, the nation's finest medieval building.

Day 6 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 7 - Narvik

The cable car on Narvikfjellet Mountain affords an incredible bird’s eye view of the town and dramatic landscape around Ofotfjorden. Narvik's five years of German occupation are documented in the Nordland Red Cross War Memorial Museum.

Day 8 - Tromsø

Tromso is located around 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle and is home to the world's northernmost university, cathedral and brewery. The cable car ride to the summit of Mount Storsteinen offers stunning views of the city. The Arctic Cathedral is just one of Tromso's famous landmarks.

Day 9-10 - Alta

Alta is located on the banks of the Alta River which is popular for salmon fishing. Large wooded areas surround the town which is one of the best places to see the magical Northern Lights.

Day 11-12 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on relaxing days at sea.

Day 13 - Ålesund

Alesund was rebuilt in an art nouveau style following a fire in 1904. Admire the magnificent buildings with turrets and towers or walk up the 418 steps to the summit of Mount Aksla for stunning views of the town. The Jugendstilsenteret in the former Swan Pharmacy celebrates Alesund's architectural history.

Day 14 - Stavanger

Stavanger is a modern city and known as the Oil Capital of Norway. Explore the picturesque old part with its 18th century wooden houses or admire the impressive Anglo-Norman style cathedral.

Day 15 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 16 - London Tilbury

Disembark ship in London Tilbury.
