There are various interesting scultures scattered around the town, including "The end of the journey", in memory of the 18 Jews from Kiristiansund, killed in Austwitz. It is also the gateway to the Atlantic Road, one of the world's most scenic roads, offering amazing views and a journey you will never forget.

Alta is the largest town in Finnmark and located on the banks of the Alta River, popular for salmon fishing. The town has three centres. Large areas of woodland surround the town which is one of the best places to see the magical Northern Lights.
