Join Magellan in London Tilbury and head to picturesque Torshavn, one of the smallest capital cities in the world with a beautiful old town lined with characteristic turf-covered houses. Perhaps visit the famous geothermal Blue Lagoon whilst in the quirky city of Reykjavik with its vast lava fields and bubbling geysers.

Lerwick on the rugged Shetland Islands is the gateway to the incredible archaeological site of Jarlshof, and Kirkwall, capital of the beautiful Orkney archipelago, is overlooked by the impressive St Magnus Cathedral. The town is the gateway to the magnificent archaeological site of Skara Brae which can be visited on an optional excursion.

Northern Lights and Iceland Itinerary

Day 1 - London Tilbury (UK)

Embark Magellan in London Tilbury.

Day 2 - Rotterdam (Holland)

Rotterdam's architecture is an intriguing mix of old and new. The city was founded in 1328 and today modern glass skyscrapers stand side-by-side with buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Day 3 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 4 - Torshavn (Faroe Islands)

Torshavn is one of the smallest capital cities in the world and was once the site of an annual Viking gathering. Perhaps explore the old part of the town which boasts characteristic red buildings with turf-covered roofs clustered on a narrow peninsula. The wild and dramatic landscape of the Faroe Islands is a magnificent backdrop to optional excursions showing how islanders live on these remote and unspoilt islands.

Day 5 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Days 6-7 - Reykjavik (Iceland)

Reykjavik is one of the world's smallest capital cities and boasts magnificent mosaics, spectacular sculptures and colourful houses. Perhaps visit the classic 'Golden Circle' with its lava fields, bubbling mud pools and impressive geysers on an optional excursion along with the chance to bathe in the famous Blue Lagoon.

Enjoy the ship's facilities on relaxing days at sea.

Day 10 - Lerwick (Shetland Islands)

Lerwick was founded as an unofficial marketplace to service 17th-century Dutch herring fleets. Hay's Dock is home to the Shetland Museum and Archives. On the southern tip of Mainland is the impressive archaeological site of Jarlshof.

Day 11 - Kirkwall (Orkney Islands)

Kirkwall is the capital of the Orkney archipelago. The spectacular St Magnus Cathedral dominates the town's skyline. Take one of the optional excursions during your time here.

Day 12 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 13 - London Tilbury (UK)

Disembark Magellan in London Tilbury.
