North Cape and Land of the Midnight Sun Itinerary

Day 1 - London Tilbury (UK)

Embark ship in London Tilbury.

Day 2 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 3 - Bergen (Norway)

Known as the ‘Gateway to the Fjords’, Bergen is Norway’s second largest city. It is beautifully sited against a backdrop of seven mountains and the funicular ride to the summit of Mount Fløien affords wonderful panoramic views of Bergen and Norway’s attractive coastline. Overlooking the harbour the colourful Bryggen wharf is the face of Bergen. The characteristic wooden gabled buildings were once the home and offices of Hanseatic merchants but today house shops selling crafts and traditional souvenirs.

Day 4 - Trondheim

Explore Trondheim, Norway's first capital with its low timbered buildings, charming alleys and picturesque wooden bridge. The city is home to the gothic-style Nidaros Cathedral, the nations finest medieval building.

Day 5 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 6 - Narvik

The cable car on Narvikfjellet Mountain affords an incredible bird’s eye view of the town and dramatic landscape around Ofotfjorden. Narvik's five years of German occupation are documented in the Nordland Red Cross War Memorial Museum.

Day 7 - Tromso

Tromso is located around 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle and lays claim to the world's northernmost university, cathedral and brewery. The cable car ride to the summit of Mount Storsteinen offers stunning views of the city, which is built on two islands. The Arctic Cathedral is one of the landmarks of Tromso and The Polar Museum is just one of the city's museums.

Day 8 - At Sea

Day 9 - Longyearbyen (Svalbard)

Longyearbyen is the largest populated area in the region of Svalbard, and the world's northernmost city. The city itself is mainly industrial with a waterfront which is lined with shipping containers. However, its location and ease of access, make it the perfect base for exploring the Norwegian wilderness and glaciers.

Day 11 - Honningsvaag (Norway)

Honningsvaag is one of the smallest cities in Norway and lies on the south-eastern side of Mageroya island in the Barents Sea. It is the starting point of excursions to the dramatic North Cape.

Day 14 - Kristiansund

Kristiansund is built across four islands connect by bridges. Famed for its Salted Cod, known as 'Clipfish', it owes its prosperity and growth to the locals who were producing and exporting the product as far back as 1690. There are various interesting sculptures scattered around the town, including "The end of the journey", in memory of the 18 Jews from Kristiansund, killed in Austwitz. It is also the gateway to the Atlantic Road, one of the world's most scenic roads, offering amazing views and a journey you will never forget.

Day 15 - Rosendal

Sail along Romsdalfjord to the small town of Andalsnes. Optional excursions feature the beautiful Romsdal Alps with the incredible Troll Wall and spectacular winding Troll Path Road, or enjoy a vintage steam train journey on the incredible Rauma Line through breathtaking mountain scenery.

Day 16 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 17 - London Tilbury (UK)

Disembark ship in London Tilbury.
