Iceland and Faroes Itinerary

Day 1 - Liverpool (UK)

Embark Magellan in Liverpool.

Day 2 - Dublin (Ireland)

Dublin is the capital of the Emerald Isle and boasts a superb mix of medieval, Georgian and modern architecture. The city is home to Dublin Castle, Trinity College and majestic Four Courts. Perhaps cross the Ha’penny Bridge, one of Dublin’s most famous landmarks. Please note: Passengers on the 10th July departure from Dublin will be embarking the ship today.

Days 3-4 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on relaxing days at sea.

Day 5 - Reykjavík (Iceland)

Reykjavik is one of the world's smallest capital cities and boasts magnificent mosaics, spectacular sculptures and colourful houses. Perhaps visit the classic 'Golden Circle' with its lava fields, bubbling mud pools and impressive geysers on an optional excursion along with the chance to bathe in the famous Blue Lagoon.

Day 6 - Ísafjörður

Isafjordur is located just below the Arctic Circle and surrounded by soaring mountains. The Maritime Museum is a great place to learn about the history of the settlement and the importance of the fishing industry. Perhaps take the optional excursion to the island of Vigur, home to a large eider duck colony.

Day 7 - Akureyri

Akureyri lies just below the Arctic Circle, however the climate here is temperate, allowing Akureyri's Botanical Gardens to provide a home for over 2,000 species of flora from around the world. Optional excursions explore highlight Iceland’s extraordinary landscapes including Skutastadir's lunar-like pseudo-craters and the magnificent Godafoss Waterfall. Alternatively, visit the Laufas Folk Museum or Myvatn Nature Baths.

Day 8 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 9 - Klaksvík (Faroe Islands)

Colourful fishing boats dot the busy harbour of Klaksvik which is set in beautiful surroundings. Perhaps explore the town's cultural heritage at the Christian's church, where a traditional Faroese boat hangs, or visit the small museum of the northern islands which gives an insight into the daily life of times gone by.

Day 10 - Tórshavn

Torshavn is one of the smallest capital cities in the world and was once the site of an annual Viking gathering. Perhaps explore the old part of the town which boasts characteristic red buildings with turf-covered roofs clustered on a narrow peninsula. The wild and dramatic landscape of the Faroe Islands is a magnificent backdrop to optional excursions showing how islanders live on these remote and unspoilt islands.

Day 11 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 12 - Liverpool (UK)

Disembark Magellan in Liverpool. Please note: Passengers who embarked in Dublin on Day 2 will disembark in Dublin tomorrow.
