Discover the neo-Gothic Mount Stuart House which is testament to generations of Stuart passion and flamboyance, before continuing to the magnificent Ardgowan House. Spend a full day at Dumfries House, a stunning 18th-century country house that combines the neoclassical architecture of Robert Adam with the furniture of Thomas Chippendale.

Visit Strachur House, the residence of Sir Charles and Lady MacLean, and renowned for its flower and woodland gardens. At the iconic Inveraray Castle there is a tour before cruising East Kyle and Loch Striven. Visits to Hill House and Finlaystone House conclude this incredible cruise.

Historic Houses and Castles of the Clyde Itinerary

Day 1 - Greenock (Scotland)

Embark Hebridean Princess in Greenock.

Day 2 - Rothesay

Call at the Isle of Bute to discover the Victorian mansion of Mount Stuart House, explore its stunning gardens and learn how this house was one of the most technologically advanced of its era. Continue to Largs and the magnificent Ardgowan House.

Day 3 - Largs

Enjoy a visit to Hunterston House and Hunterston Castle, before continuing to Brodick and the stunning Brodick Castle.

Day 4 - Troon

Spend a full day, including lunch, at the prestigious Dumfries House which is set in 2,000 acres and is home to neoclassical architecture and an unrivalled collection of Chippendale furniture.

Day 5 - Strachur

Head to the magnificent Strachur House, the residence of Sir Charles and Lady McLean.

Day 6 - Crarae

Visit the enchanting 18th-century Inveraray Castle which is the seat of the Dukes of Argyll. Later, cruise East Kyle and Loch Striven.

Day 7 - Rhu

Enjoy a visit to Hill House, before continuing to Finlaystone House.

Day 8 - Greenock

Disembark Hebridean Princess in Greenock.
