Castles and Clans

Day 1 - Oban (Scotland)

Embark Hebridean Princess in Oban.

Day 2 - Rum

Admire the grand red sandstone architecture and bespoke decoration of the once flamboyant Kinloch Castle before cruising the Sea of the Hebrides.

Day 3 - Barra

Head to Castlebay on the island of Barra and explore Kisimul Castle; the only significant surviving medieval castle in the Outer Hebrides which dates back to the 15th century and is home to the seat of Clan Macneil. Known as the ‘Castle in the Sea’, Kisimul is only accessed by small boat from Castlebay. Next, journey up to Lochboisdale on South Uist island to visit the fascinating Kildonan Museum which holds over 10,000 items related to the social, domestic and cultural history of South Uist.

Day 4 - Dunvegan

Discover Dunvegan Castle, the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland and ancestral home of the Chiefs of Clan MacLeod for 800 years before enjoying some scenic cruising.

Day 5 - Armadale

This morning, marvel at Eilean Donan, the most photographed castle in Scotland before cruising onward to Armadale where you will have the opportunity to explore Armadale Castle. This castle is said to be the spiritual home of Clan Donald and the romantic castle ruins are surrounded by historic gardens and woodland trails.

Day 6 - Tobermory

Arrive in the vibrant Georgian town of Tobermory and discover the majestic Glengorm Castle. This evening, head to the imposing Duart Castle for a farewell champagne reception hosted by Sir Lachlan Maclean, current Chief of the Clan Maclean.

Day 7 - Oban

Disembark Hebridean Princess in Oban.
