The Kiel Canal links the North Sea to the Baltic Sea and handles around 70,000 vessels a year, more than the Panama or the Suez canals.

Day 4 - Warnemünde (Germany)

An international resort at the mouth of the Warnow River, Warnemunde is your gateway to the old Hanseatic city of Rostock, the lovely countryside and coastal resorts of Northern Germany and to Berlin, which can be visited on an exciting full day optional tour. Day 6 - Tallinn (Estonia)

A very attractive Baltic capital city, that is renowned for its friendliness and the welcome it provides for visitors. Estonia is now a modern forward thinking country but with a great pride in its history. Tallinn has a well-preserved medieval quarter, impressive fortified city walls and it is a delight to visit the quaintly named Long Leg Street or Tall Hermann, a 14th-century watchtower.

Days 7-8 - St. Petersburg (Russia)

Russia's glorious second city is home to the Hermitage and its outstanding art collection, the Peter and Paul Fortress, St Isaac's Cathedral and the battleship Aurora, whose guns signalled the start of the 1917 revolution. A full programme of excursions, including evening options to the ballet or a folklore show, is operated here to help you make the most of your precious time.

Day 9 - Helsinki (Finland)

Finland's capital, Helsinki is a vibrant and modern city. Senate Square is lined with elegant neo-classical buildings and the spectacular Lutheran Cathedral. See the onion-domed Uspenski Cathedral which dominates the city's skyline. Helsinki is home to several museums, including the National Museum of Finland.

Day 10 - Nynäshamn (Sweden)

Nynashamn lies on the southern tip of Sodertorn and is the gateway to the 700-year old capital of Stockholm. Explore Gamla Stan, the medieval Old Town or visit the Vasa Museum built around a 17th-century warship on optional excursions.

Day 11 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.
