Autumn Fjordland Itinerary

Embark Marco Polo in Newcastle.

Day 2 - Aberdeen (Scotland)

The vibrant city of Aberdeen is surrounded by beautiful countryside and coastlines and is known for its historic charm.

Day 3 - At Sea

Day 4 - Cruising Nordfjord - Olden

The village of Olden is situated at the end of the innermost arm of the mighty Nordfjord. Steep mountains tower on both sides of the valley, making the village of Olden one of the most charming and idyllic in Western Norway with the opportunity to visit the Briksdal Glacier.

Day 5 - Cruising Sognefjord - Flåm

The village of Flam is surrounded by towering mountains and nestled at the head of Aurlandsfjord. In the late 19th century, royals were attracted by the salmon fishing in the Flam River. Today, visitors flock to Flam for the opportunity to ride on the world famous railway, a masterpiece of engineering. Later, cruise Sognefjord.

Day 6 - Bergen

Known as the ‘Gateway to the Fjords’, Bergen is Norway’s second largest city. Yet with a population of less than a quarter of a million, it has the feel of a small town. It is beautifully sited against a backdrop of seven mountains and the funicular ride to the summit of Mount Fløien affords wonderful panoramic views of Bergen and Norway’s attractive coastline. Overlooking the harbour the colourful Bryggen wharf is the face of Bergen. The characteristic wooden gabled buildings were once the home and offices of Hanseatic merchants but today house shops selling crafts and traditional souvenirs.

Day 7 - At Sea

Day 8 - Newcastle
