Norway will take your breath away – and not just because of the crystal-clear air. The sheer scale of the fjords has to be seen to be believed, and once witnessed will never be forgotten.

Gliding along mirror-smooth waters, you’ll be awed by the pristine landscapes that inspired the Vikings to conquer Europe: an endless, unspoilt vista of craggy cliffs, magnificent waterfalls and majestic mountains crowned in snow.

A Taste of Fjordland Itinerary

Day 1 - Tilbury (UK)

Just 22 nautical miles down river from the Tower Bridge in London, Tilbury is a popular turnaround port for cruises visiting Baltic and Northern European destinations.

Day 2 - At Sea

Day 3 - Haugesund (Norway)

Formerly the royal seat of the Viking kings, this typically Scandinavian town is set amid stunning fjords and waterfalls, with colourful houses, a charming waterfront and all the facilities of modern city life.

Day 4 - Flåm

One of the most scenic train routes in Europe zooms high into the mountains between the towns of Myrdal and Flåm. After the day-trippers have departed, it's a wonderful place to extend your tour and spend the night.

Day 5 - Bergen

Surrounded by mountains and sparkling fjords, the waterside city of Bergen has a spectacular setting. There has been a settlement here since medieval times and the colourful waterfront buildings of the Hanseatic wharf, known as Bryggen, are testament to its fascinating history of trade. As Norway’s best known medieval settlement, the Bryggen is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Our comprehensive selection of excursions allows you to discover the many sides of Bergen, such as the fish market and narrow cobbled streets, as well as stunning views of the city from the summit of Mt Fløyen. Alternatively, those who have visited the city previously may like to experience one of the tours that travel further afield. Just 300 yards from the main piers, you will find the Fortress Museum (Fesningsmuseum), which has an interesting collection of objects related to World War II.

Day 6 - At Sea
