Treasures of Polynesia Itinerary

Day 1 - Papeete (Tahiti)

Embark ship in Papeete.

Day 2 - Mataiva (Tuamotu Islands)

The Tuamotu Islands are renowned for their exquisite lagoons and coral beaches.

Day 3 - Rangiroa

Rangiroa is a secluded atoll in the Tuamotu Archipelago surrounded by a stunning lagoon. Admire the clear waters, white sandy beaches and famous Blue Lagoon during your time here, arguably one of the best diving sites in the world. Rangiroa is also well-known for its Polynesian pearl culture.

Day 4 - Huahine (Society Islands)

Huahine is one of the most beautiful of the Society Islands, and its volcanic landscape is shrouded in mystery. Discover more about Polynesian history at one of the archaeological sites, or learn more about the island's culture by meeting the locals at the main town of Fare or one of the coastal villages. Perhaps snorkel in the crystal-clear waters of the lagoon or join one of the optional guided tours which take in sights such as the vanilla plantation, pearl farm or the many open-air prehistoric temples.

Day 5 - Raiatea

Raiatea is a volcanic island halfway between Huahine and Bora Bora. The oldest traces of local life were found here and there are several sites which bear witness to the island's incredible past, including the first Polynesian holy site. Although there are very few beaches, the coral islets are stunning.

Day 6 - Motu Ceran

Motu Ceran is the quintessential deserted island, with white sandy beaches lined with swaying palm trees, translucent waters with a magnificent coral garden. Relax in the tranquil atmosphere, bask in the warm Polynesian sun or snorkel in the clear shallow waters and look out for barracuda, red snappers, reef sharks, rays and playful dolphins.

Days 7-8 - Bora Bora

Dominated by two towering volcanic mountains and surrounded by a famous turquoise lagoon with colourful coral reefs, this is a spectacular destination. Why not take the opportunity to snorkel in the pristine waters where there may be the chance to see the popular stingrays or harmless black tip sharks. For a different view of the island, take a thrilling optional helicopter ride over Bora Bora, travel on board a local truck to see the everyday lives of local people or visit remote villages and hidden view points on an off-road 4x4 trip.

Day 9 - Moorea - Papeete (Tahiti)

Spend the morning exploring Moorea further, before cruising to Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia, where the hustle and bustle of urban life combines with the traditional laid-back Polynesian lifestyle. Key sights include the majestic colonial cathedral, the Maison de la reine Marau and colourful Vaipahi public gardens. The large market is the perfect place to try the local cuisine including fruits and fish.

Day 10 - Papeete (Tahiti)

Disembark ship in Papeete.
