Polynesia and Easter Island National Geographic Itinerary

Day 1 - Papeete (Tahiti)

Embark ship in Papeete.

Day 2 - Rangiroa (Tuamotu Islands)

Life on Rangiroa is tranquil and simple. Perhaps snorkel the Motu Nui Nui aquarium garden or admire the coral gardens and tropical fish of Rangiroa during a scenic glass-bottom boat tour. Alternatively, learn about Rangiroa's black pearl industry during a visit to a black pearl farm or sample some Tahitian wine and rum at a local vineyard.

Day 3-4 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on relaxing days at sea.

Day 5 - Rikitea (Gambier Islands)

On the island of Mangareva, the small village of Rikitea is home to Saint Michael's Cathedral which was built entirely from coral and wood.

Day 6 - Aukena

Enjoy French Polynesia's gentle way of life on a visit to Aukena Island, home to just 30 people. There is the chance to visit a pearl farm to learn about pearl cultivation. Sail around the Temoe Atoll where it may be possible to see spectacular shoals of tuna or sea bream following the coastline.

Day 7 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 8 - Adamstown (Pitcairn Island)

Discover the subtropical Pitcairn Islands and set foot on Pitcairn Island where you can meet the 50 people that inhabit this whole archipelago.

Day 9 - Sailing along Ducie Island

The coral atoll of Ducie Island is one of the most remote islands in the world and has rarely been approached by ships. Enjoy views of the volcanic island of Pitcairn as you sail away.

Day 10-11 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 12-13 - Hanga Roa (Easter Island)

This Chilean Island is 3,700km away from the South American coastline. Discover its wooden Rongorongo tablets and enigmatic monumental Moai statues.

Day 14 - Hanga Roa

Disembark ship in Hanga Roa.
