Spain and Morocco to the Canary Islands Itinerary
Day 1 - Malaga (Spain)
Embark Star Flyer in Malaga.
Day 2 - Gibraltar
Gibraltar is dominated by the iconic Rock of Gibraltar. Perhaps take the cable car to the summit for spectacular views and to see the island's famous apes. Dolphins leap in the sparkling waters of Gibraltar Bay and the chances of seeing them are good.
Day 3 - Tangier (Morocco)
Tangier is a diverse city with a mixture of influences and is the gateway to Africa. The historic medina or old city has charming alleyways and lively souks. Overlooking the medina is the Kasbah which has a museum housing fascinating artefacts, including 16th-century jewellery and a floor mosaic. Just outside the city is the legendary cave of Hercules and picturesque Cap Spartel.
Day 4 - Cadiz (Spain)
The ancient city of Cadiz is home to a gold-domed cathedral, beautiful medieval quarter and romantic winding streets. Perhaps join an optional excursion to the magical city of Seville with its cathedral, Alcazar Palace and Andalusian gardens.
Day 5 - At sea
Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.
Day 6 - Safi (Morocco)
Safi is a thriving city and important port, which offers a glimpse into everyday life in Morocco. Head to the pottery works to see the colourful Safi pottery or perhaps explore the new town with its long boulevards and magnificent villas. In contrast, the walled medina has atmospheric alleys to explore. The city is home to the impressive Dar Al Bahar fortress which offers panoramic views across the ocean.
Day 7 - At sea
Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.
Day 8 - Arrecife (Lanzarote)
Arrecife was once a small fishing village. Today, it is the lively capital of Lanzarote and has pristine beaches, beautiful parks and vast promenades. Perhaps visit Castillo San Gabriel and Castillo San Jose which both house fascinating museums or head to the golden sands of Playa del Reducto. Another noteworthy place is El Charco de San Gines, a beautiful salt-water lagoon overlooked by fishermen’s houses.
Day 9 - Puerto del Rosario (Fuertaventura)
Fuertaventura is the second-largest island in the Canary archipelago and has a stunning coastline. The island has several traditional windmills and its capital, Puerto del Rosario, is home to characteristic Canarian-style houses and a beautiful promenade.
Day 10 - Las Palmas (Gran Canaria)
