Alternatively, visit the stunning botanical gardens, take in a thrilling samba show or climb to the statue of Christ the Redeemer.

Day 3 - Buzios

Considered the St. Tropez of Brazil, Buzios boasts twenty beaches, including Azeda Beach with its calm and crystal-clear waters. Perhaps join the schooner trip to Buzios' isolated beaches for snorkelling and swimming or take a walking tour of the Emerências Reserve, with its exotic plants, bromeliads and even the last golden lion tamarin monkeys in the region.

Day 4 - Ilha Grande

Beautiful tropical beaches and dense rainforest abound on this pristine island. Why not enjoy snorkelling on a schooner trip to the idyllic Blue Lagoon or explore the Ilha Grande State Park with its colourful parrots and hummingbirds.

Day 5 - Parati

This historic town has beautifully preserved Portuguese colonial architecture, charming narrow streets, an imposing fort and exquisite churches. Perhaps take a leisurely schooner cruise and enjoy swimming, snorkelling or just relaxing on a lovely sandy beach.

Day 6 - Sao Paulo

Journey inland to vibrant São Paulo, whose museums are among the finest in South America. Its entertainment and nightlife attract some of the best performers in the world and the city has evolved into a centre for Brazil's own martial art, capoeira, whose dance-like motions are performed to music. Perhaps explore charming Santos and its extraordinary botanical garden, including an orchidarium and an aviary with macaws, toucans and parrots, or take a scenic drive to Guaruja and visit the resort town's fascinating aquarium.

Day 7 - Porto Belo

Perched on a lovely peninsula, Porto Belo is revered for its beaches along this ‘Emerald Coast’. There is the opportunity to explore the cosmopolitan city of Florianopolis and discover its fascinating history or learn about the unique role that German heritage has played in southern Brazil's history on a trip to the town of Blumenau.

Day 8 - At sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 9 - Rio Grande

Explore this lovely old Portuguese city, with its beautiful buildings, monuments and churches, home to the Museum of Sacred Art and the fascinating oceanographic museum. Perhaps join the guided tour of the city which features the neo-classic Customs House, the Cathedral Sao Pedro and the Museum of Sacred Art.

Day 10 - Punta Del Este (Uruguay)

Spend the day enjoying this glamorous beach resort, its marinas and interesting shops. See amazing works by Dali, Chagall and Miro at the Ralli Museum, or venture into the equally stunning countryside and visit a sculpture park, private nature reserve or classic car museum.
