Peru to Chilean Fjords and Cape Horn Special Offer

This superb luxury expedition cruise holiday begins in Peru where renowned Inca sites include Ollantaytambo, Cuzco and the amazing Machu Picchu. Following this there is an unforgettable voyage on board Scenic Eclipse to the stunning scenery of the Chilean Fjords.

After an overnight hotel stay in Lima, the colourful capital of Peru, travel to the Sacred Valley where highlights include a Farm to Table dining experience, a walking tour of Ollantaytambo and the chance to meet a local family in Chinchero village. Discover the breathtaking Inca site of Machu Picchu and travel through the incredible Andes on a glass-domed train. In the historic city of Cuzco visit the ruined Sacsayhuaman fortress and visit a local school before boarding Scenic Eclipse in Callao.

Discover Paracas on the southern coast or Peru, a haven for wildlife including guano birds and Humboldt penguins, before cruising to the colourful city of Valparaiso. Scenic Eclipse then cruises deep into the maze of the Chilean Fjords calling at Puerto Montt, gateway to the breathtaking vistas of the Andes, and Castro, with its traditional wooden houses on stilts. Weather permitting, there may be a lnading on the legendary Cape Horn at the tip of the Tierra del Fuego archipelago before an overnight hotel stay in Buenos Aires.

Peru to Chilean Fjords and Cape Horn Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Lima (Peru)

Welcome to Lima, the capital of colourful Peru. Start your journey into wonder with an overnight hotel stayand meet your Tour Director on arrival.

Day 2 - Lima - Sacred Valley

Fly to Cuzco then travel through the picturesque Sacred Valley for your three night stay. Your relaxing stay in the Sacred Valley allows you to experience the history, unique lifestyle, culture and majestic scenery of this heartland of the former Inca Empire. This evening delight in a Farm to Table dining experience. Harvest, prepare and cook with the close guidance of your chef, then sample your gourmet delights in the grounds of the hotel with the backdrop of the surrounding peaks. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - Sacred Valley

Join your expert local guide for a walking tour of the town of Ollantaytambo, the site where Manco Inca defeated the Spanish conquistadors. At Hacienda Huayoccari sample a delicious lunch of Andean specialities and see the Chinchero village weavers demonstrate their centuries old hand-woven techniques. The afternoon is at your leisure to relax and enjoy the facilities of your hotel. Enjoy an unforgettable culinary experience of five different meats cooked five different ways over an open flame, with ingredients grown in the hotel's organic garden. (B,L,D)

Day 4 - Sacred Valley

Tour the impressive ruins of Pisac and its colourful markets, or see the ruins of Moray and the Incan salt pans. Alternatively, at Chinchero meet a local family, learn about their lifestyle and explore this picturesque village. Tonight share stories of your excursion with your fellow travellers as you enjoy a private performance by local musicians complemented with a tapas style dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 5 - Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu

Walk to the train station for your rail journey to Machu Picchu. The mighty Incan Empire built this astonishing World Heritage-listed Site in the 15th century. Standing 2,430 metres above sea level, in the middle of a tropical mountain forest, its giant walls, terraces and ramps seem as if they have been cut naturally in the mighty rock escarpments. Abandoned when the Spanish conquistadors arrived and only rediscovered in 1911, you'll be amazed as your expert local guide shares the mysteries of these majestic ruins. Tonight relax in your charming hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 6 - Machu Picchu - Cuzco

Explore the village of Machu Picchu at your leisure this morning. Marvel at the spectacular views from the glass dome carriages on your rail journey through the incredible Andes. Continue to the charming city of Cuzco for your three night Special Stay, set in the heart of the historic centre. (B)

Day 7 - Cuzco

The former capital of the Incan Empire, Cuzco is a city with incredible architecture. On your walking tour you will uncover the history of this World Heritage-listed Site. Your final stop will be the imposing ruins of Sacsayhuaman fortress. Visit a community school supported by Scenic and meet the teachers and pupils. (B)

Day 8 - Cuzco

Uncover the secrets of iconic Peruvian coffee and Pisco on a tasting tour, or choose to explore the fascinating San Pedro food markets with a local guide followed by a cooking class. Alternatively, discover the picturesque San Blas artisan quarter on a walking tour. Dine at the MAP Cafe restaurant or try the intimate Cicciolina restaurant. (B,D)

Day 9 - Cuzco - Lima

Fly to Lima and visit Museo Larco. Continue to your hotel for an overnight stay. Join your Tour Director for a Farewell dinner this evening. (B,L,D)

Day 10 - Lima - Callao

Transfer to Callao port to embark Scenic Eclipse. (B,D)

Day 11 - Paracas

Paracas Bay, on the Pacific coastline of Peru is where the desert and the sea come together in spectacular landscapes. The cliffs that frame the beaches are prolific with wildlife including millions of seagulls and cormorants that are year round residents, as well as many migratory birds including guano birds and Humboldt penguins. Our fleet of Zodiacs and kayaks will take you exploring to the wildlife rich Ballestas Islands, home to sea lion colonies and over 200 species of birds. Witness a private performance of entertaining Peruvian musicians as you sample the National drink, the Pisco Sour with the dramatic backdrop of the sun setting across the Pacific Ocean. (B,L,D)

Days 12-14 - At sea

Relax and enjoy the amazing facilities of your floating resort, perhaps take a dip in the Scandinavian inspired plunge pools or sooth your muscles and mind in the relaxation lounge. (B,L,D)

Day 15 - Valparaiso (Chile)

The World Heritage-listed city of Valparaiso welcomes you with its long and colourful history dating back to the Conquistadors. This vibrant city is rich in theatre, music, performance and street art, with most streets, staircases, alleyways and buildings brightly painted. Stroll winding cobblestone labyrinths of alleyways and bustling streets and see brightly-coloured houses on the hills with your local guide or travel to the Casablanca Valley and taste some of Chile's finest vintages. Day 16 - At sea

Relax on board or join an informative and entertaining presentation by your Discovery Team. (B,L,D)

Day 17 - Puerto Montt

At the very end of the Pan American highway is Puerto Montt, the starting point for the fabled land of fjords, canals, islands, snow-capped volcanoes, green-forested hills and the enchantment of Southern Chile. At Frutillar, lying alongside Lake Llanquihue, see the traditional German houses with beautiful gardens filled with fragrant flowers. Alternatively explore Osorno Volcano and Petrohue Falls or choose to visit Senda Nativa Romahue Reserve where you will meet the passionate owners and their staff and learn about their native wildlife rehabilitation and education programme including the elusive puma. Day 18 - Chiloe Island

Isla Grande de Chiloe, lying just off the coast of Chile, is South America's fifth largest island and home to a population of fiercely independent seafarers. Discover the World Heritage-listed churches and architecture of Castro or enjoy Scenic Discovery excursions by kayak or hiking. (B,L,D)

Days 19-23 - Inner Fjords

Your senses will be overloaded with the majestic scenery and wildlife of the inner passages of the Chilean Channels, lying at the foot of the massive Darwin Cordillera mountain range. Watch from the Sky Terrace, the Observation Terrace or your private verandah as the Captain and local Chilean Pilot expertly manoeuvres Scenic Eclipse through the islands and channel markers of the English Narrows. Be awed by the power of the ever-growing Pio XI Glacier as you come close to the glacial face on a Zodiac or kayak. Glaciers abound in this incredible landscape and you will discover the El Brujo and Amalia glaciers and many more highlights in these marvellous days of exploration. (B,L,D)

Day 24 - Magdalena Island

Lying in the Magellan Strait, this small island is a national monument of Chile and a breeding location for many species of birds including the Magellanic Penguin. Scenic Discovery excursions by Zodiac and kayak will highlight the different species of the island and walking tours led by passionate local guides sharing their insights will be a highlight. Days 25-26 - Chilean Fjords

Explore in kayaks and Zodiacs. Sensory days of cruising await as you traverse the Agostini and Garibaldi Fjords. Glaciers abound with the Monte Buckland mountain range as the backdrop. (B,L,D)

Day 27 - Cape Horn

The point where the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean meet, Cape Horn is the southernmost headland of the Tierra del Fuego archipelago and at the southernmost tip of Chile. Weather permitting, Scenic Discovery excursions to land on Cape Horn will show the true skill of our Captain, Crew and the Discovery Team. (B,L,D)

Day 28 - Ushuaia - Buenos Aires

Your cruise ends this morning as you say farewell to the crew and disembark after breakfast to Buenos Aires for your overnight stay. (B)

Day 29 - Buenos Aires - UK

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your overnight flight to the UK. (B)

Day 30 - Arrive UK
