Panama Canal and The Humboldt Route Itinerary
Day 1 - Bridgetown (Barbados)
Embark your ship in Bridgetown.
Days 2-3 - At sea
Relax onboard during a couple of days at sea.
Day 4 - Santa Marta (Colombia)
Santa Marta is set in a stunning bay on Colombia's Caribbean coast. On clear days, the peaks of the Sierra Madre de Santa Marta range can be seen from the beach. Santa Marta is the oldest city in Colombia and in Tayrona National Park, there are huge volcanic boulders dotted along beaches. The Santa Marta Gold Museum houses many fascinating exhibits, while the white Villa San Pedro de Alejandrino was donated as a final home for the great liberator Simon Bolivar.
Day 5 - At sea

Day 6 - Bocas del Toro (Panama)
Bocos Town on Colon Island was used as a base for banana plantations in the 1920s by the United Fruit Company. Each island within the archipelago has beautiful beaches, mangrove waterways and colourful handicrafts, as well as an abundance of wildlife.
Day 7 - Panama Canal
Today you will transit the legendary Panama Canal. Enter the Gatun Locks before exiting into Gatun Lake to begin the transit. Later, arrive at the Pedro Miguel Locks to begin your descent towards the Pacific Ocean, then onto the Miraflores Locks and out into the ocean.

Days 9-10 - Manta (Ecuador)
Manta is a thriving city which relies heavily on the export of fish and fruit. However, visitors are also attracted to its beaches and peaceful fishing villages. Manta's culture is a patchwork of heritage and traditions dating back to the early Native American, Spanish and black African slave settlers.
Day 11 - Puerto Bolivar
Puerto Bolivar is the gateway to Machala near the Gulf of Guayaquil. It is known as the 'Banana Capital of the World', but coffee and cacao are also important crops. It has an impressive cathedral, and the church of Nuestra Senora de Chilla has a depiction of the Virgin and child. Further afield, the Petrified Forest Puyango is the biggest array of fossil trees in the world.
Day 12 - At sea

Day 13 - Salaverry (Peru)
Salaverry is the gateway to Trujillo, founded by Spanish conquistador Pizarro. Here you'll see colonial mansions with distinctive wrought-iron grillwork. The area is also known for its numerous archaeological sites including the ancient Chimu capital of Chan Chan.
Day 14 - Islas Guanape
This island group is a breeding ground for seabirds off the coast La Libertad in Peru. The islands are protected and guano harvesting is regulated. There is abundant bird and marine life, from pelicans to boobies and Humboldt penguins.
Day 15 - Callao
Disembark the ship in Callao.
