Join Le Soleal in Puerto Quetzal and cruise to San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua, from where you can explore colonial Granada at the foot of the Mombacho volcano. Head into the heart of Carara National Park during your time in Puerto Caldera, before spending the day at tranquil Cocos Island, whose amazing ecosystem is home to turtles, manta rays, dolphins and whale sharks.

Visit picturesque Cebaco Island with its white sandy beaches and colourful coral reefs. Le Soleal then circumnavigates Pacheca Island in the idyllic Pearl archipelago, named after pearl oysters present in the Gulf of Panama. Fuerte Amador is the next port of call, and located at the Pacific entrance to the Panama Canal. Head to the Miraflores Locks and watch ships make their way along this famous canal.

Discover the remote village of Playa Muerto in the UNESCO-listed Darien National Park, home to the Emberas Amerindian community. Meet the villagers and watch traditional dance performances, before cruising to Bahia Salano.

Jewels of Latin America Itinerary

Day 1 - Puerto Quetzal (Guatemala)

Embark Le Soleal in Puerto Quetzal.

Day 2 - At sea

Enjoy the facilities on board during a relaxing day at sea.

Day 3 - San Juan del Sur (Nicaragua)

San Juan del Sur is one of Nicaragua's most popular resorts. Enjoy a tour of colonial Granada with highlights including the famous Convent of San Francisco and La Merced Church, or a drive through Masaya Volcano National Park to see an active volcano. Alternatively, there is an optional hike around the crater of a volcano.

Day 4 - Puerto Caldera (Costa Rica)

From Puerto Caldera head into the heart of Carara National Park to see the exotic flora and fauna, including scarlet macaws, howler monkeys and crocodiles. Alternatively, join the optional canopy tour deep into the luxuriant rainforest.

Day 5 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 6 - Cocos Island

Cocos Island was once a favourite place for pirates to hide their booty, and Jacques-Yves Cousteau called it the most beautiful island in the world. The island is an incredible ecosystem with verdant tropical rainforest, over 200 waterfalls and turquoise-blue waters that are home to turtles, manta rays and whale sharks.

Day 7 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on relaxing days at sea.

Day 8 - Cebaco Island (Panama)

Cebaco Island is located at the entrance to the Gulf of Montijo. It is covered in tropical rainforest and has stunning white sandy beaches. There are numerous hiking routes which showcase the incredible scenery. Its magnificent coral reefs on the edges of UNESCO-listed Coiba National Park are a refuge for marine life.

Day 9 - Pacheca Island (Pearl Islands) - Fuerte Amador (Flamenco Island)

Le Soleal will cruise around Pacheca Island, an uninhabited island situated in the far north of the Pearl Islands, home to an array of birds. The archipelago, made up of over 220 islands and islets, is named after pearl oysters present in the Gulf of Panama. Pearls were extracted and used as ornaments or currency in colonial times. Later, cruise to Fuerte Amador at the Pacific entrance to the Panama Canal. Head to the Miraflores Locks where you can watch the ships make their way along the canal and visit the four exhibition halls. Alternatively, head to the Frank Gehry Museum and explore Colonial Panama, known as 'Casco Antiguo'.

Day 10 - Playa Muerto (Darien National Park)

UNESCO-listed Darien National Park is an unspoilt paradise, rich in flora and fauna. Board a Zodiac to a local beach and walk a short distance to an Embera Indian Village to meet a local tribe. Watch a series of dance performances and learn about this traditional community.

Day 11 - Bahia Solano (Colombia)

Bahia Solano on the Choco coast is covered by tropical rainforest and home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna.

Days 12-13 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 14 - Guayaquil (Ecuador)

Disembark Le Soleal in Ecuador.
