Cross the Atlantic from Buenos Aires to Lisbon with days at sea coupled with exciting port stops, from Salvador de Bahia in Brazil to the Cape Verde Archipelago and the island of Madeira. Days at sea celebrate the joys of cruising, with ample time for relaxation, activities, entertainment and world-class cuisine.

After a luxurious overnight hotel stay in Rio de Janeiro, board Scenic Eclipse and sail to Salvador de Bahia whose fascinating culture is a mix of Portuguese, African and native Amerindians. Enjoy five days at sea which allows plenty of opportunities to experience the ship's opulent Spa Sanctuary, relax in The Observatory or go on a Scenic Epicure culinary adventure.

Grand Voyage of Discovery Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)

Fly from the UK to Rio de Janeiro. Stay overnight in a luxurious hotel. Regional airports available on request.

Day 2 - Rio de Janeiro

Embark Scenic Eclipse where a world of wonder awaits as you step on board, raise your glass and toast the start of your luxurious cruise.

Day 3-4 - At sea

Acquaint yourself with the exceptional range of facilities on board your luxurious yacht. Choose a class in one of the fitness spaces or relax in one of the therapy lounges in the Spa Sanctuary. Tempt your palate from one of the exceptional dining venues or try wine tasting with the Sommelier in Scenic Epicure.

Day 5 - Salvador de Bahia

With a colourful history as the first capital of Brazil in 1549, Salvador de Bahia is unique. Mixed heritages from the Portuguese to African slaves and the native Amerindians provide a fascinating blend of history, culture, architecture and lifestyles.

Day 6-10 - At sea

Scenic Eclipse's opulent Spa Sanctuary has spacious areas for reflection and relaxation. Discover the ancient art of Nordic bathing in the Scandinavian-inspired plunge pools and saunas. Daily entertainment, Scenic Epicure culinary adventures, some quiet time in The Observatory; all this and more is at your fingertips.

Day 11 - Praia (Cape Verde)

This interesting archipelago has a colourful history with links to the African slave trade from 1462 when the Portuguese colonized the islands to the late 1800's when the slave trade was abolished

Day 12 - Mindelo

Mindelo is known to be the cultural capital of the archipelago, and home to the Morna, the traditional Capeverdean music genre. Take in the sites of the colourful house fronts and colonial style, and the local art scene throughout the streets.

Day 13-14 - At sea

Try a game of bridge or canasta in the Observatory or create a masterpiece in Scenic Epicure, whatever you choose, there is ample time for more relaxation on the horizon.

Day 15-16 - Funchal (Madeira)

Madeira sits in the Atlantic Ocean at the top of an extinct underwater volcano. The capital Funchal is nestled in a great natural amphitheatre, facing the Atlantic against a dramatic mountain backdrop. Discover the history of the city dating back five centuries or explore the Botanical Gardens before riding a traditional two-seat toboggan back to the waterfront. Alternatively tour the island and visit a sugarcane factory.

Day 17 - At sea

Savour your last day on board.

Day 18 - Lisbon (Portugal) - UK

Lisbon signals the end of your cruise as you disembark after breakfast taking away memories of your adventures. Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
