Day 1 - UK - Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)
Fly from the UK to Rio de Janeiro
Day 2 - Buzios
The tiny fishing village of Búzios, just 105 miles from Rio de Janeiro, is considered one of the ten most beautiful spots in the world. The village burst into prominence when French actress Brigitte Bardot visited here in her heyday (there’s a statue of her looking out to sea on the Orla Bardot). Today, this once sleepy village is an international resort -- St. Tropez, with a unique Brazilian beat. Búzios offers some of South America’s most attractive beaches. Excursions include a coach tour and a cruise of the Buzios coast by schooner.
Day 3 - Ilha Grande
Some of Brazil's most gorgeous beaches and exotic rainforests can be found 120 miles south of Rio de Janeiro on the Ilha Grande. Ilha Grande boasts over 200 beaches and historically was a pirates hideaway. Enjoy exploring this beautiful island hiking its trails, kayaking, snorkeling, diving to spectacular sites or simply relaxing on its gorgeous beaches. Enjoy a schooner and snorkelling excursion or join the walking tour which delves into the cultural and natural history of the island.
Day 4 - Paraty
Savor this gem of a historic town with its beautifully preserved Portuguese colonial architecture, charming narrow streets, imposing fort and exquisite churches. Discover Trindade's gorgeous beaches, explore Atlantic Forest by 4-wheel drive, or board a schooner for a leisurely cruise around the Paraty Islands.
Day 5 - Sao Paulo
“A healthy and fresh land and good waters" is how the first Jesuit priests who crossed the Serra do Mar mountains in 1553 described the area that would become the largest and wealthiest city in South America. Explore the old and the new downtown sections, the Cathedral of São Paulo, the Oriental District, the Higienopolis District, and Pacaembu Stadium.
Day 6 - Porto Belo
Discover the quaint fishing village charm and lively beach atmosphere of Porto Belo, tucked at the base of lush mountains on a sparkling emerald bay. Take a few moments to peruse the wharf shops before shuttling off to the main square in downtown Porto Belo. Look for unique Brazilian beachwear, jewelry and hand carved wooden art pieces. Excursions are a coach tour of Camboriu followed by a cable car ride up to a mountain-top trail at Atlantic Forest, or a trip to Blumenau to learn about its heritage.
Day 7 - At sea
Enjoy the ship's facilities on relaxing days at sea.
Day 8 - Rio Grande
Explore this lovely old Portuguese city, its gracious squares and beautiful churches. Enjoy a scenic drive through the downtown area of Rio Grande, before visiting the oldest Cathedral of the State, Cathedral Sao Pedro, and the Oceanographic Museum with its rare and unusual species of invertebrates, fish and mollusks.
Day 9 - Punta Del Este (Uruguay)
Spend the day enjoying this beautiful, chic beach resort, its marinas, museums and fascinating shops, or head off an excursion. Watch the sun set from Casapueblo with a glass of champagne in hand, visit the Classic Car Museum or join a bike tour along the cycle-friendly streets of Punta del Este.
Day 10 - Buenos Aires (Argentina)
Rivaling Madrid or Paris for sophistication and culture, the tree-lined boulevards of fashionable Buenos Aires are home to superb restaurants, art galleries, museums, the magnificent Teatro de Colon and the brightly colored houses of La Boca barrio. As the sun sets, Recoleta awakens and the passionate melodies of the tango rise from the milangas along San Telmo’s cobbled streets. Few cities in South America share the ambiance, lifestyle and amenities that make Buenos Aires so endearing. Enjoy a tango show, visit a private estancia and be welcomed by gauchos bearing tasty empanadas, or cruise the waterways of the Tigre River delta.
Day 11 - Buenos Aires - UK
Disembark your ship in Buenos Aires and fly back to the UK.
