Chilean Fjords & Cape Horn with Taste of Argentina & Brazil Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Lima (Peru)

Welcome to Lima, the bustling Peruvian capital, where your journey into wonder begins with an overnight stay.

Day 2 - Lima

After breakfast, transfer to the port city of Callao to board Scenic Eclipse and toast to the start of your luxurious cruise. (B,D)

Day 3 - Paracas

Paracas Bay, on the Pacific coastline of Peru is where the desert and the sea come together in spectacular landscapes. The cliffs that frame the beaches are prolific with wildlife including millions of seagulls and cormorants that are year round residents, as well as many migratory birds including guano birds and Humboldt penguins. Our fleet of Zodiacs and kayaks will take you exploring to the wildlife rich Ballestas Islands, home to sea lion colonies and over 200 species of birds. Witness a private performance of entertaining Peruvian musicians as you sample the National drink, the Pisco Sour with the dramatic backdrop of the sun setting across the Pacific Ocean. (B,L,D)

Day 4 - 6 - At sea

Relax and enjoy the amazing facilities of your floating resort, perhaps take a dip in the Scandinavian inspired plunge pools or sooth your muscles and mind in the relaxation lounge.

Day 7 - Valparaiso (Chile)

The World Heritage-listed city of Valparaiso welcomes you with its long and colourful history dating back to the Conquistadors. This vibrant city is rich in theatre, music, performance and street art, with most streets, staircases, alleyways and buildings brightly painted. Stroll winding cobblestone labyrinths of alleyways and bustling streets and see brightly-coloured houses on the hills with your local guide or travel to the Casablanca Valley and taste some of Chile's finest vintages. Day 8 - At sea

Relax on board or join an informative and entertaining presentation by your Discovery Team. (B,L,D)

Day 9 - Puerto Montt

At the very end of the Pan American highway is Puerto Montt, the starting point for the fabled land of fjords, canals, islands, snow-capped volcanoes, green-forested hills and the enchantment of Southern Chile. At Frutillar, lying alongside Lake Llanquihue, see the traditional German houses with beautiful gardens filled with fragrant flowers. Alternatively, explore Osorno Volcano and Petrohué Falls or choose to visit Senda Nativa Romahue Reserve where you will meet the passionate owners and their staff and learn about their native wildlife rehabilitation and education programme including the elusive puma. Day 10 - Chiloé Island

Isla Grande de Chiloé lying just off the coast of Chile, is South America's fifth largest island and home to a population of fiercely independent seafarers. Discover the World Heritage-listed churches and architecture of Castro. Scenic Discovery excursions by kayak or hiking. (B,L,D)

Day 11 - Inner Fjords

Your senses will be overloaded with the majestic scenery and wildlife of the inner passages of the Chilean Channels, lying at the foot of the massive Darwin Cordillera mountain range. Watch from the Sky Terrace, the Observation Terrace or your private veranda as the Captain and local Chilean Pilot expertly manoeuvres Scenic Eclipse through the islands and channel markers of the English Narrows. Be awed by the power of the ever-growing Pio XI Glacier as you come close to the glacial face on a Zodiac or kayak. Glaciers abound in this incredible landscape and you will discover the El Brujo and Amalia glaciers and many more highlights in these marvellous days of exploration. (B,L,D)

Day 12 - 15 - Inner Fjords

Day 16 - Magdalena Island

Lying in the Magellan Strait, this small island is a national monument of Chile and a breeding location for many species of birds including the Magellanic Penguin. Scenic Discovery excursions by Zodiac and kayak will highlight the different species of the island and walking tours led by passionate local guides sharing their insights will be a highlight. Day 17 - 18 - Chilean Fjords

Explore in kayaks and Zodiacs. Sensory days of cruising await as you traverse the Agostini and Garibaldi Fjords. Glaciers abound with the Monte Buckland mountain range as the backdrop. (B,L,D)

Day 19 - Cape Horn

The point where the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean meet, Cape Horn is the southernmost headland of the Tierra del Fuego archipelago and at the southernmost tip of Chile. Weather permitting, Scenic Discovery excursions to land on Cape Horn will show the true skill of our Captain, Crew and the Discovery Team. (B,L,D)

Day 20 - Ushuaia (Argentina) - Buenos Aires

Disembark and fly to Buenos Aires for an overnight stay. (B)

Day 21 - Buenos Aires - Iguazú Falls (Brazil)

This morning fly to Iguazú Falls. Discover the walkways across the top of the falls on the Argentinean side to the lookout where you will see the famous ‘Devil’s Throat’ and be awed by the sheer volume of water cascading over the falls. Cross the border and enter the Brazilian National Park for your three night Special Stay. With an enviable setting inside the park gates, as a guest of the hotel you will be able to experience the sun setting over the top of the magnificent natural wonder of the falls without the general public. Day 22 - Iguazú Falls

After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely walking tour to discover the Brazilian Falls before the park gates open to the public. Be awed by the world's largest volume waterfall as you stand on the walkway in the middle of the falls. Your day continues with an exciting jet boat adventure where you will see the base of the falls and feel the spray of water on your face. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to enjoy this pristine wilderness and the facilities of your magnificent hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 23 - Iguazú Falls

This morning explore Parque das Aves and be amazed by the colourful array of rare birds flying in the huge aviaries. Soar over Iguazú Falls on an optional helicopter flight. Additional cost, please book on tour. (B,D)

Day 24 - Iguazú Falls - Rio de Janeiro

Fly to the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro. A highlight will be your three night Special Stay, set in the heart of the beach strip. (B)

Day 25 - Rio de Janeiro

This morning is a memory to treasure as you watch the sunrise across Rio from the base of the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue with exclusive access before the park gates open to the public. Afterward, at Sugarloaf Mountain, the cable car ride takes you to the top of the peak for sweeping panoramic views. From there, continue your ascent to the apex of the iconic Sugarloaf Mountain on one of the world's oldest cable cars. Along the way to the summit, take in the spectacular views of Rio and the surrounding landscape. (B,L)

Day 26 - Rio de Janeiro

Discover Santa Teresa and the Selarón Steps or visit the favelas (shanty towns) to see the day to day lifestyle. Alternatively enjoy a walking tour of downtown Rio. A highlight awaits at our private farewell dinner in the elegant Library where you will enjoy a delicious three-course gourmet meal. (B,D)

Day 27 - Rio de Janeiro - UK

Say farewell as you transfer to Rio de Janeiro airport. Fly overnight to the UK. (B)
