Explore the contrasting landscapes of Chile, cruising deep into the stunning Chilean Fjords to discover vast glacier valleys and colourful villages. Zodiac boats will take you into the heart of these areas where you may see Humpback whales breaching and Magellanic penguins nestling nearby.

Navigate Cape Horn with perhaps the chance to step ashore, then begin cruising the breathtaking Chilean fjords, a maze of narrow passages, channels and fjords leading to the majestic glaciers of Bruggen and El Brujo.

The colourful fishing village of Tortel in the heart of southern Patagonia has an array of spectacular sculptures created by local artists whilst Chiloe is a verdant island with remarkable architecture and a wide range of wildlife.

Cape Horn and the Chilean Fjords National Geographic Itinerary

Day 1 - Buenos Aires (Argentina)

Enjoy an overnight hotel stay in Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina. Buenos Aires is famous for its outstanding cultural life and its European-influenced architecture and is a dazzling feast for the senses.

Day 2 - Buenos Aires - Ushuaia

Check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport for the flight to Ushuaia. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, or join an optional excursion to the Tierra del Fuego National, before embarking ship.

Day 3 - Cape Horn

Sail around the mythical Cape Horn where, weather permitting, there may be the chance to go ashore.

Day 4 - Puerto Williams (Chile)

The city of Puerto Williams is located on Navarino Island. Take a stroll along the streets set against a backdrop of the Patagonian Andes. Perhaps head to the Martin Gusinde museum of anthropology for an insight into the lives of the ancient indigenous people.

Day 5 - Garibaldi Glacier

Cruise along the Garibaldi Fjord past stunning scenery, before arriving at the towering Garibaldi Glacier. You may be lucky enough to see sea lions and numerous birds.

Day 6 - Agostini Glacier

In the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, the Agostini Glacier is an imposing blue-tinged glacier offering stunning views over the Agostini fjord.

Day 7 - Strait of Magellan

Cruise the mythical Strait of Magellan, following in the footsteps of the famous Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan who organised the first circumnavigation of the globe in the 16th century.

Day 8 - El Brujo Glacier

El Brujo Glacier is located at the heart of Bernardo O'Higgings National Park, Chile's largest protected area. Watch this magical natural wonder changes as the light catches it at different angles.

Day 9 - Pio XI Glacier - English Passage

The Bruggen Glacier in southern Chile is also known as Pio XI. It is the largest of the glaciers which makes up the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. It straddles the southern Andes Mountains and is simply breathtaking. Later, cruise the magnificent natural beauty of the English Passage.

Day 10 - Tortel

Cruise to the colourful Patagonian village of Tortel which is located between the Northern and Southern Patagonian Ice Field. See its houses on stilts and explore its endless streets. The village is also home to several impressive sculptures.

Day 11 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 12 - Quemchi

Visit the small fishing port of Quemchi on the eastern shore of Chiloe Island. See the pretty wooden houses and perhaps head to the fish market. There is a museum dedicated to Francisco Coloane, a Chilean author and adventurer born here. The small island of Isla Aucar is accessible via a wooden footbridge and is home to a wide variety of birdlife and a superb botanical garden.

Day 13 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 14 - Talcahuno - Santiago

Disembark ship in Talcahuno and transfer to Concepcion for the flight to Santiago.

For navigational reasons the Captain of the ship reserves the right to modify the cruise itinerary.
