Buenos Aires to Belem

Day 1 - Buenos Aires (Argentina)

Embark Hanseatic Inspiration in Buenos Aires.

Day 2 - Montevideo (Uruguay)

Arrive in Montevideo, a city bursting with colonial history. Perhaps discover the many majestic buildings on an optional guided bicycle tour or explore the city's historical significance on a guided historic city tour. Alternatively, join an optional wine tour for connoisseurs before heading back to the ship.

Day 3 - Day 4 - At Sea

Relax and enjoy the facilities on board Hanseatic Inspiration as you spend a couple of days at sea.

Day 5 - Ilha do Mel (Brazil)

Arrive on the beautiful, serene island of Ilha do Mel which showcases bizarre rock formations, idyllic bays, lovely beaches and the legendary Encantadas Cave. Perhaps enjoy an optional canoe tour on Ilha das Pecas to explore the mangrove forests and salt marshes that shape this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Look out for dolphins which often appear in these waters.

Day 6 - Ilhabela - Ilha de Sao Sebastiao

Join an optional hike through the Atlantic forest on the island of Ilha de Sao Sebastiao and discover the islands fascinating biodiversity. Then, take the opportunity to visit the waterfalls on an optional jeep tour. The plunging waters are set in a stunning, unspoilt landscape.

Day 7 - Parati

This historic town has beautifully preserved Portuguese colonial architecture, charming narrow streets, an imposing fort and exquisite churches. Perhaps take a leisurely schooner cruise and enjoy swimming, snorkelling or just relaxing on a lovely sandy beach. Or enjoy an optional walking tour through historic Parati.

Day 8 - Ilha Grande

Today, arrive on the Ilha Grande, which for the most part is a natural paradise of barely accessible jungle. Follow in the footsteps on the Tupinamba Indians on an optional hike to Lopes Mendes Beach and relax on this exquisite hidden bay which showcases soft, white sand and sparkling azure water.

Day 9 - Rio de Janeiro

Christ the Redeemer welcomes you as you arrive in the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro. Discover the charming colonial buildings and monumental Maracan Stadium during an optional tour of the city and Sugarloaf Mountain. Or perhaps visit the palace of the former emperor, Dom Pedro II on an optional imperial city tour. Alternatively, take the opportunity to enjoy a helicopter flight over Rio.

Day 10 - Armacao dos Buzios

Spend the morning discovering the former fishing village of Armacao dos Buzios which is now home to elegant gourmet restaurants. Perhaps, board a schooner and head to the beaches of Buzios.

Day 11 - At Sea

Spend a relaxing day at sea.

Day 12 - Ilheus

Upon arrival in the former cocoa heartland of Ilheus, enjoy a swim in a secluded bay. Then admire the unique church architecture and monuments of Ilheus during an optional guided tour which includes a visit to the Tijuipe Waterfalls and the chance to relax in a picturesque rock pool. Alternatively, enjoy an optional boat trip on the Rio Contas to the small town of Itacare which boasts a charming landscape.

Day 13 - Salvador

The city of Salvador is the pulsating heart of the country's Afro-Brazilian community and its old town of Salvador de Bahia has earned a UNESCO World Heritage status due to its remarkable sights including the imposing baroque cathedral. Discover the colonial treasures of Bahia during a guided tour where the picturesque towns take you back to the age of sugar cane and diamond mining.

Day 14 - At Sea

Spend a relaxing day at sea.

Day 15 - Fortaleza

From Fortaleza, head to Aquiraz and see the extraordinary house facades which reflect the architectural diversity of the centuries. Then join an optional buggy safari to some of the most amazing beaches in South America.

Day 16 - 17 - At Sea

Relax and enjoy the facilities on board Hanseatic Inspiration as you spend a couple of days at sea.

Day 18 - Belem

Disembark Hanseatic Inspiration in Belem.
