This gastronomic voyage showcases the delightful culinary offerings of the Highlands and Islands. From artisan cheeses to malt whiskeys, taste some of Scotland’s finest produce whilst sailing on the luxury Hebridean Princess.

Sample fine malt whiskey at the Laphroaig Distillery in Port Ellen before meeting the man who supplies our ship with delicious fresh Oysters in Colonsay. Explore the fascinating Dunvegan Castle and dine at a world-renowned restaurant.

Visit the most remote pub on mainland Britain (Apr departure only), take a stroll through the small Isle of Eigg and discover traditional artisan cheese-making methods. Finally, enjoy a champagne reception at Duart Castle before returning to Oban.

Gastronomic Scotland Itinerary

Day 1 - Oban

Embark Hebridean Princess in Oban.

Day 2 - Islay - Colonsay

Arrive in Port Ellen, Islay and sample delicious whiskey at the spectacular Laphroaig Distillery before heading to Colonsay, the isle of Oysters and Honey. Meet the man who supplies our ship with tasty oysters and learn about his other passion - native Black Bees and the honey they produce.

Day 3 - Rum

Overlooked by the magical Askival, the island of Rum is a haven for wildlife and a designated National Nature Reserve. Explore the red sandstone Kinloch Castle, the first private residence in Scotland to have electricity.

Day 4 - Skye

Arrive in Loch Dunvegan on the Isle of Skye. Visit the impressive Dunvegan Castle which is the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland and is home to the Clan Macleod; one of Scotland’s most celebrated Highland clans. The castle boasts five acres of formal gardens which feature beautiful plants, woodland glades and attractive waterfalls. Have lunch at the world renowned Three Chimneys Restaurant before cruising the south Coast of Skye.

Day 5 - Skye - Inverie or Shieldaig

On the April departure, guests will enjoy a divine lunch at the Kinloch Lodge in Armadale before paying a visit to the most remote pub on mainland Britain, The Old Forge in Inverie. On the September departure, guests will enjoy walks ashore and a delicious lunch at the Torridon Hotel, before heading to Kyle of Lochalsh for more walks ashore.

Day 6 - Isle of Eigg - Tobermory

Explore the isle of Eigg on foot this morning and get a sense of what life is like for the roughly 90 people who live on this island community. Then sail South to discover the traditional artisan methods used to create Isle of Mull Cheese from the colourful island capital of Tobermory.

Day 7 - Eriska - Mull

Enjoy a delightful lunch in the award winning restaurant on the Isle of Eriska Hotel. Finish the culinary adventure with a champagne reception at Duart Castle in Craignure, Mull which is hosted by Sir Lachlan Maclean, Chieftain of Clan Maclean.

Day 8 - Oban

Disembark in Oban.
