Tulips and Windmills Itinerary
Day 1 - UK - Amsterdam (Holland)
Fly from the UK to Amsterdam. Meet your representative on arrival and transfer to the port to embark your ship. (D)
Day 2 - Amsterdam
Today there are two ways to explore the Dutch capital of Amsterdam. Enjoy a private visit to the Amsterdam heritage, exclusively reserved for Uniworld guests, then join a canal cruise or walking tour. Captain's Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner this evening. (B,L,D)
Day 3 - Haarlem
Spend the day at Keukenhof Gardens, an extraordinary site boasting seven million flowers (lunch not provided). Or enjoy a half day at the gardens and either relax on board after lunch or visit Haarlem's historic centre and the oldest museum in the Netherlands, with free time to explore on your own. (B,L,D)
Day 4 - Enkhuizen - Hoorn
Spend some time exploring the picture-perfect town of Enkhuizen and leave the modern world far behind as you visit a recreated 19th-century Dutch village. Later, you’ll discover the town of Hoorn’s seafaring past, where the swashbuckling derring-do of Dutch explorers will come to life on a guided walking tour of this historic locale. (B,L,D)
Day 5 - Nijmegen
Enjoy a visit to the Kroller-Muller Museum which houses works by Vincent Van Gogh. Alternatively, join the "Let's Go" Riverland Biking excursion taking in Waal Bridge, Valkhof and Nijmegen's notable landmarks including market square. (B,L,D)
Day 6 - Rotterdam - Kinderdijk - Dordrecht
Sail to Rotterdam, cruise through its harbour, the second largest in the world before enjoying free time to explore. This afternoon arrive in Kinderdijk and join a local guide to discover 19 astonishing well preserved windmills dating back to the 1500s and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Alternatively, experience Rotterdam's culinary prowess on a walk to Market Hall. Please note if docking in Kinderdijk is not possible, the excursion will be arranged by coach from Rotterdam. (B,L,D)
Day 7 - Veere
Enjoy a morning visit to the engineering marvel known as the Delta Works where you'll learn how technology has evolved over the centuries. Spend the late afternoon at leisure in charming Veere or join the guided stroll. Alternatively, enjoy a Yerseke oyster tasting. Later, relax on board as you cruise the picturesque Zeeland area. Day 8 - Ghent (Belgium)
Enjoy a full-day trip to well-preserved Bruges, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with historic architecture, with a canal cruise. Or explore Ghent, one of the oldest cities in Belgium, with a guided tour featuring the medieval centre and the famous Ghent Altarpiece. (B,D)
Day 9 - Antwerp
Choose from two sightseeing options. Visit the Cathedral of Our Lady, which houses four master works by Peter Paul Rubens. Or experience Antwerp as the locals do by catching a metro to the historic central station then walk to the main shopping district to sample local delicacies. Captain's Farewell Dinner this evening. Day 10 - Antwerp - Brussels - UK
Disembark the ship and transfer to Brussels Airport for your flight home.
