This river cruise takes you to the heart of Spanish Andalucia from Seville. Discover the delightful cities of Granada, Cordoba, Jerez and Cadiz on an exciting programme of excursions.

Leaving Seville, sail past the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Donana to Cadiz for a visit to Jerez and discover its heritage of flamenco and horse-breeding, and of course, sherry production. In Sanlucar de Barrameda, taste Manzanilla wine and experience an equestrian display.

Your ship returns to Seville for a guided tour of Granada and a visit to the magnificent Alhambra Palace, surrounded by the lush gardens of the Generalife. Seville is surrounded by unspoilt countryside and the next day there is a guided tour of one of its nature reserves with the chance to spot a variety of birdlife.

End on a high note with a tour of Cordoba which includes a visit to the splendid mosque-cathedral. It has over 800 fluted columns decorated with jasper and granite. Your visit to this Moorish city ends with a lunch of tapas served in a local restaurant.

SHF_PP - Traditions, Gastronomy and Flamenco of Andalucia Itinerary

Day 1 - Seville (Spain)

Embarkation from 5pm. Settle into your cabin and meet the crew over a welcome cocktail. The evening is free after dinner on board. Overnight stopover.

Day 2 - Seville - Cordoba

Today is devoted to a tour of Cordoba, the City of Caliphs. On a guided tour you will discover the mosque-cathedral, a forest of 856 columns adorned with jasper, granite and precious marble; the Judeira, the former Jewish quarter of white lanes and courtyards. Afterwards, return to Seville.

Day 3 - Seville

After breakfast on board there is a guided tour of Seville on foot. Art and enchantment have left their mark on Seville, the 'city of light'. Return to the ship for lunch whilst we sail on the great river passing fields of cotton and rice and the Donana Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Arrive in Cadiz this evening, where after dinner you can explore with our hostess.

Day 4 - El Puerto de Santa Maria

This morning set out on an excursion to Jerez and visit a 'ganaderia' (a property where bulls are raised). This afternoon there is a guided tour of Cadiz on foot. After, cruise to El Puerto de Santa Maria and enjoy an evening of traditional Flamenco on board.

Day 5 - El Puerto de Santa Maria - Isla Minima

Visit a wine cellar renowned for its production of local wines, before cruising to Isla Minima, a genuine Andalusian hacienda. Enjoy a horse show in its private arena. Cruise towards Seville this evening.

Day 6 - Seville

Enjoy a guided visit to Granada with its Moorish monuments and the Alhambra. Discover the Generalife, a palace with romantic gardens, before returning to Seville.

Day 7 - Seville

Enjoy free time in Seville this morning. In the afternoon join an excursion to a nature reserve and tour with a forest guide. From June to August visit the Wharf of the Caravels where you will be able to see replicas of Christopher Columbus' ships.

Day 8 - Seville

Disembarkation at 9am after breakfast on board.
