Discover the magnificent chateau of Auvers-sur-Oise, immortalised by Vincent Van Gogh, and head to the fascinating Marmottan Museum, which houses the largest collection of paintings by Claude Monet. You'll then bid farewell to the romantic city of Paris and head to the picturesque village of Giverny for a visit to Claude Monet's famous house and gardens.

Follow in the footsteps of the Impressionists on a guided tour of Rouen, before cruising one of the most scenic stretches of the Seine, which inspired many painters. Duclair is the starting point for an exciting excursion along the Norman Abbey Circuit which takes in Jumieges Abbey and the Abbey of Saint Wandrille. Picturesque Honfleur is a fitting finale to this incredible cruise, and is considered the cradle of Impressionism. Boudin, Monet, Bazille and Jongkind would meet at Saint Simeon farm to try and capture the changing light over the estuary. Enjoy a guided walking tour, before exploring the Cote d'Albatre and Etretat.

During the cruise, there will be informative presentations on board about Impressionism, from its origins to techniques.

IMP_PP - Impressionist View of the Seine Itinerary

Day 1 - Paris (France)

Embark the ship in Paris. Settle into your cabin, before meeting the crew at a welcome cocktail. Dinner is followed by a presentation - "A Definition of Impressionism, its Origins, the Technique, and the Context".

Day 2 - Paris

This morning, enjoy a guided audio tour of the Chateau of Auvers-sur-Oise. This afternoon, you can visit the Musee Marmottan which houses the largest collection of paintings by Claude Monet. Please note: The museum is closed on Mondays so this visit will be replaced by the Musee de L'Orangerie. Later, return on board for an evening cruise through Paris.

Day 3 - Paris - Giverny

Spend the morning cruising along the Seine. Enjoy an onboard presentation - "Claude Monet, the quintessence of Impressionism". This afternoon, head to Claude Monet's famous house and garden in Giverny. He spent half his life here and divided his time between working on the garden and painting the Water Lilies series. Explore the house which contains Monet's private collection of Japanese prints, and the colourful garden. This evening, enjoy a "Guingette" evening on board.

Day 4 - Rouen

Spend the morning cruising. This afternoon, join the guided tour of Rouen following in the footsteps of the Impressionists. Please note: The Musee des Beaux-Arts is closed on Tuesdays and public holidays, so the visit will be replaced by the Eugene Boudin Museum in Honfleur, a stop on Day 6. Tonight, there is a gala dinner on board.

Day 5 - Duclair - Honfleur

Cruise the most scenic stretch of the Seine this morning which has inspired many painters. There is another presentation on board - "The geography of Impressionism: Paris and the suburbs, Honfleur and the Norman coast". Reach Duclair and disembark for an excursion along the Norman Abbey Circuit. The ship sets sail for Honfleur this evening.

Day 6 - Honfleur - Etretat - Alabaster Coast

Join the guided walking tour of Honfleur, considered the cradle of Impressionism where Boudin, Monet, Bazille and Jongkind would meet and try and capture the changing light over the estuary. You are welcome to visit the Eugene Boudin Museum (entrance fee not included). This afternoon, there is a tour of the Cote d'Albatre, the Pays de Caux and the Seine estuary, with a visit to Etretat.

Day 7 - Honfleur

Disembark the ship in Honfleur.

For navigational reasons the Captain of the ship reserves the right to modify the cruise itinerary.
