Gems of the Seine Itinerary
Day 1 - UK - Paris (France)
Fly from a choice of regional airports or travel by Eurostar from St. Pancras International to Paris Gare du Nord. A representative will transfer you to your luxury ship. Tonight enjoy dinner onboard. (D)
Day 2 - Paris - Les Andelys
Join a hike with a difference and visit King Richard the Lionheart’s Château Gaillard, or journey to Lyons la Forêt, one of the most beautiful villages of France, and visit a local farm to sample cider, the region’s specialty. Alternatively, join your local guide for a walking tour of the quaint village of Les Andelys, or take a bicycle tour through this beautiful village, set on the banks of the Seine. (B,L,D)
Days 3-4 - Rouen
This morning we arrive in Rouen, renowned for its historical ties to Joan of Arc after being burned at the stake, where there is a guided walking tour. The following day, there is the choice to take an excursion to the Somme Battlefields including a visit to the Australian National Memorial which commemorates the 10,773 soldiers killed during World War II or alternatively visit the Museum of Fine Arts. On-board there is a lecture about the Somme Battlefields and a visit from a local patissier who will showcase a selection of fine desserts. (B,L,D)
Days 5-6 - Honfleur
Take in the passing scenery as you cruise to Honfleur. See the beautiful old houses on a guided walking tour or immerse yourself in the beautiful la Cote Fleurie region with a visit to Deauville. The following day, there is the option to visit the Normandy D-Day landing beaches. (B,L,D)
Day 7 - Caudebec-en-Caux
Visit Fecamp and its magnificent palace or head to the charming village of Bolbec. For the more active, opt for the cycling tour to Villequier and the Victor Hugo Museum. (B,L,D)
Day 8 - Vernon
Spend the morning cruising to Vernon. This region of France was popular with many Impressionist artists. Visit Giverny and Monet's former house and gardens, take a self-guided cycle from Vernon to Giverny, or alternatively see the sights independently. There is a Scenic Enrich experience this evening. Enjoy a live classical concert at the impressive Chateau de La Roche-Guyon. (B,L,D)
Day 9 - Conflans - Paris
Today there is the choice to visit the charming village of Auvers-sur-Oise including entry to Vincent Van Gogh's room or visit the magnificent Chantilly Castle for a guided tour. Later, see the illuminated sights of Paris as the ship arrives this evening. (B,L,D)
Day 10 - Paris
Join a resident expert for a tour of the city or head to the magnificent 17th-century Chateau Vaux-le-Vicomte, the inspiration for Versailles Palace. Chateau Vaux-le-Vicomte was featured in the James Bond movie, Moonraker. There is also the option to explore Paris independently. (B,L,D)
Day 11 - Paris - UK
After breakfast, disembark and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK or take the Eurostar to London St Pancras. (B)
