Set sail on an enchanting voyage of discovery along the Russian waterways. Begin with a 4-night stop in the magnificent city of St Petersburg where there is ample time to see the city's opulent highlights, including Peter and Paul Fortress, the Hermitage Museum and lavish Peterhof Palace.

En-route to Mandrogi enjoy a Russian language lesson on board before exploring the island village's quirky wooden houses and the famous Vodka Museum. After a relaxing picnic lunch there is time to shop for hand-made souvenirs in the artisan shops. Kizhi Island is home to the spectacular Transfiguration Church, built without a single nail, while a stop at the peaceful town of Goritsy includes a visit to the Monastery of St Cyril on the White Lake.

2019 Russian Treasures Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - St Petersburg (Russia)

Fly from the UK to St Petersburg and transfer to your ship, the Rossia. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. (D)

Day 2 - St Petersburg

Join the guided city tour with highlights including Peter and Paul Fortress and the St Nicholas Cathedral of the Epiphany, then spend the afternoon exploring the city at leisure.

Day 3 - St Petersburg

Explore the State Hermitage, one of the most impressive museums in the world and home to Russia's royal art collection of more than three million works. (B,L,D)

Day 4 - St Petersburg

Tour the opulent Peterhof Palace with its landscaped gardens, beautiful fountains and French Gothic interiors. (B,L,D)

Day 5 - Mandrogi

Cruise along the Neva River whilst enjoying a Russian language lesson on board. In the quaint village of Madrogi take a guided tour of the quirky wooden houses, learn about the history of traditional Russian villages and visit the famous Vodka Museum before enjoying a delicious picnic lunch of Russian delicacies. Day 6 - Kizhi Island

Visit World Heritage-listed Kizhi situated on Lake Onega. Explore the World Heritage-listed open-air Museum of Architecture on a guided tour and see the Church of the Transfiguration which was built without a single nail. (B,L,D)

Day 7 - Goritsy

Cruise across the White Lake and along the Volga-Baltic Waterway to the peaceful farming town of Goritsy where you can take a guided tour with highlights including the impressive Monastery of St Cyril of the White Lake. (B,L,D)

Day 8 - Yaroslavl

Explore the glorious Golden Ring city of Yaroslavl, one of Russia's oldest cities. Discover the historic centre, golden-domed churches and the 12th-century monastery. (B,L,D)

Day 9 - Uglich

Dock in Uglich, a fascinating Golden Ring city. Enjoy a guided tour which will transport you back in time, before rejoining the ship and cruising along the Volga River to Moscow. (B,L,D)

Day 10 - Moscow

Explore the city's famous landmarks accompanied by a local guide, and tour the Armoury Museum within the walls of the Kremlin which was once the royal residence of the Tsars. (B,L,D)

Day 11 - Moscow

Enjoy a tour of Moscow with highlights including Red Square and St Basil's Cathedral. There is time to explore at leisure this afternoon before a Farewell Dinner on board and an authentic vodka tasting. (B,L,D)

Day 12 - Moscow - UK

After breakfast, disembark ship and transfer to the airport for your flight home. (B)

2020 Russian Treasures Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Petersburg (Russia)

Fly from the UK to St Petersburg and embark your ship, MS Rossia. (D)

Day 2 - St Petersburg

This morning, join a tour of St Petersburg taking in the Nevsky Prospect, University quarter, Palace Square and Peterhof Park. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - St Petersburg

Enjoy a visit to the State Hermitage, one of the oldest museums in the world. (B,L,D)

Day 4 - Mandrogi

Cruise the Neva River en route to Mandrogi. Along the way, enjoy a Russian lesson on board. On arrival, join a guided tour of this island village which is a living museum. See the quirky wooden houses then see the Vodka Museum, before a relaxing picnic lunch. (B,L,D)

Day 5 - Kizhi Island

Admire the stunning Russian countryside as you cruise towards Lake Onega. Take a guided walking tour of the Open Air Museum of Architecture, a World Heritage-listed site on Kizhi Island. See the well-preserved wooden houses, windmills and churches dating back to the 14th century. The three-tiered Transfiguration Church overlooks the island, and with built without a single nail. Day 6 - White Lake - Volga-Baltic Waterway - Goritsy

Cruise across the White Lake and along the Volga-Baltic Waterway, before arriving in the beautiful farming town of Goritsy. Here, enjoy a guided tour and visit one of the largest medieval abbeys in Russia, the Monastery of St Cyril. It has an incredible 11 churches, and was once home to a huge settlement of monks. Day 7 - Yaroslavl

Yaroslavl is considered the pearl of the glorious Golden Ring cities and was founded by Prince Yaroslav the Wise. Explore the historic centre, adorned with classical architecture and golden-domed churches, and enjoy a visit to a 12th-century monastery. (B,L,D)

Day 8 - Uglich

Enjoy scenic cruising to the town of Uglich. Disembark for a guided tour, during which you'll see the former Kremlin of Uglich and the Church of St Demetrios on the Blood. This afternoon, cruise the Volga River to Moscow. (B,L,D)

Day 9 - Moscow

Arrive in Moscow and see some of the landmarks, including the Kremlin and Armoury Museum, before the opportunity to tour Moscow after dark. (B,L,D)

Day 10 - Moscow

Enjoy a tour of Russia’s most iconic sights as you head to Red Square, where you’ll admire the onion-domed St Basil’s Cathedral. Take in the GUM Department Store, Sparrow Hill and Lubyanka Square, before time at leisure. This evening, enjoy a Farewell Dinner and share a toast with an authentic glass of Russian vodka. (B,L,D)

Day 11 - Moscow - UK

Disembark and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
