Day 1 - UK - St. Petersburg (Russia)
Fly from the UK to St. Petersburg and transfer to your ship, the Scenic Tsar. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. (D)
Day 2 - St. Petersburg
Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before exploring the beautiful city of St. Petersburg on a guided tour with lunch in a local restaurant. Explore the Lower Garden at Peterhof on a guided tour, or be seduced by the sheer extravagance of Peterhof’s Grand Palace. Alternatively, wander the incomparable Upper and Lower Gardens at Peterhof. Day 3 - St. Petersburg
Visit magnificent St. Isaac’s Cathedral, or Kupetz Eliseevs Food Hall where you will be treated to a gourmet tasting of local delicacies such as Caviar and Blini. Alternatively, tour Yusopov Palace and discover its link to Grigori Rasputin. After lunch in a local restaurant, enjoy a cruise along the city’s canals. Day 4 - St. Petersburg
Spend your morning visiting some of St. Petersburg's highlights including Catherine's Palace with its grandiose white and gold façade and wonderful gardens. Enjoy a delicious lunch at the old-world wooden Podvorie restaurant before spending the afternoon at leisure. This evening, experience a private Russian ballet concert at the majestic Palace of Prince Vladimir with a lovely glass of sparkling wine. (B,D,L)
Day 5 - St. Petersburg
Spend your final day in St. Petersburg studying one of the world's most magnificent art collections at the Hermitage, formerly the Winter Palace and home to Russia’s Imperial family. This evening, relax on the Sun Deck as you set sail down the Neva River. (B,L,D)
Day 6 - Mandrogi
Arrive in Mandrogi and spend your day exploring this charming museum village with its traditional rustic architecture and distinctive buildings. Perhaps try shashlick, a traditional Russian meal similar to a shish kebab. (B,L,D)
Day 7 - Kizhi Island
Arrive at the scenic Kizhi Island which boasts some of the nation's most intricate and famous examples of wooden architecture including the Church of the Transfiguration with its 22 timbered onion domes. Marvel at the impressive collection of wooden churches and chapels as you stroll through this unique destination. (B,L,D)
Day 8 - Goritsy
Dock in the picturesque farming town of Goritsy. Explore the amazing Kirillo-Belozersky monastery which was built in 1397 and boasts a remarkable collection of Russian Orthodox icons. Enjoy a small vodka - the beverage which has famously been part of Russia's culture for 600 years. (B,L,D)
Day 9 - Yaroslavl
Today you will explore the ancient city of Yaroslavl, one of Russia's oldest cities. Visit the Fine Art Museum which features an impressive collection of Russian paintings. (B,L,D)
Day 10 - Uglich
Dock in the Golden Ring city of Uglich and allow a delightful guided tour to take you back in time as you explore this fascinating city. This evening, set sail along the Volga River for Moscow.
Day 11 - Moscow
Arrive in the mighty city of Moscow after lunch where you can discover world-renowned sights including the stunning St. Basil's Cathedral and the Red Square. (B,L,D)
Day 12 - Moscow
Spend your morning exploring this marvellous city and enjoy an insightful ride on Moscow's metro which is a unique experience it itself. The afternoon can be spent at leisure. (B,L,D)
Day 13 - Moscow
Today you can enjoy an interesting visit to the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics, view original exhibits of space technology, learn about the history of space exploration and meet the a real cosmonaut. In your free time, perhaps visit the amazing Museum of the Great Patriotic War which is often known as the World War II museum. (B,L,D)
Day 14 - Moscow
Start your day exploring the Kremlin, the intriguing seat of the former Soviet Union. Tonight you will be treated to a thrilling Russian Folk show complete with traditional costumes and dances. (B,L,D)
Day 15 - Moscow - UK
After breakfast, disembark your ship and transfer to the airport for your flight home. (B)
