Imperial Waterways of Russia Itinerary
Day 1 - UK - Moscow (Russia)
Travel to London Heathrow or Gatwick Airport for your scheduled British Airways or other leading airline flight to Moscow. Meet your representative on arrival and transfer to your ship, the River Victoria. (D)
Day 2 - Moscow
Enjoy a panoramic city tour. Following lunch downtown, take a tour of Moscow's metro system. Visit Arbat Street and spend time at leisure. In the evening, there is a Captain's Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner. (B,L,D)
Day 3 - Moscow
Enjoy an excursion to the Kremlin and adjacent Armory Museum. The Kremlin is a fortified complex in the heart of the city and the government's headquarters, while the Armory Museum houses a collection of Russian regalia.
Day 4 - Uglich
Cruise the 80-mile Moscow Canal to Uglich, a beautiful Golden Ring City. Enjoy a guided walking tour taking in the Church of St Dimitry on the Blood. Alternatively, join the hydropower GULAG tour.
Day 5 - Yaroslavl
Yaroslavl has a well-preserved UNESCO-listed city centre. Admire the Orthodox church of Elijah the Prophet and the lively outdoor market, before enjoying a scenic cruise across Lake Rybinsk.
Day 6 - Goritsy
Goritsy is a farming settlement on the Sheksna River. Join the 'Village Day' excursion, enjoy a visit to Saint Cyril on the White Lake Monastery, or opt for the 'Let's Go' village walk. Later, your ship cruises Lake Onega.
Day 7 - Kizhi Island
On your approach to Kizhi Island, admire the wooden Church of Transfiguration, built without a single nail. Step ashore and visit the island's famous open-air museum and traditional wooden structures. There is an alternative excursion - a 'Let's Go' island nature hike.
Day 8 - Mandrogi
Travel back in time during a visit to the reconstructed Russian village of Mandrogi inhabited by talented artisans. Other highlights include a rustic shashlik picnic lunch and a cruise across a stunning freshwater lake.
Day 9 - St Petersburg
See the sights of St Petersburg during a panoramic city tour and canal cruise. Admire the Nevsky Prospect, St Isaac's Cathedral and the Church of Our Savior on Blood, before boarding a canal boat for a cruise down the Fontanka and Moika rivers. There is an alternative excursion - a Russian ballet performance.
Day 10 - St Petersburg
Enjoy a guided tour of the famous Hermitage Museum, located in the former home of the tsars, the Winter Palace.
Day 11 - St Petersburg
Spend your last day in St Petersburg at the the lavish Catherine Palace with its opulent staterooms and Amber Room, restored to its former glory. Captain's Farewell Dinner this evening.
Day 12 - St Petersburg - UK
Disembark and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
