Join your luxury ship in Chalon-sur-Saone for this 12-night all-inclusive cruise through the renowned wine-producing region of Burgundy in the sun-drenched south of France, along the scenic River Rhone.

A choice of included guided excursions gives you the chance to sample the local gastronomic delights including the famous French truffles, and taste the fine wines from the Beaujolais region.

Included guided tours take you through the centre of ancient towns and charming villages made famous by many artists including Vincent Van Gogh. Visit Cluny, a small village built around its Benedictine Abbey and visit the Pont du Gard in Avignon. Splendours of Southern France Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Chalon sur Saone (France)

Fly from a choice of regional airports to Lyon or alternatively take the Eurostar from St Pancras to Paris Gard du Nord then take the train from Paris Gare de Lyon to Chalon-sur-Saone to join your ship. Tonight enjoy a welcome reception. (D)

Day 2 - Chalon-sur-Saone - Tournus

This morning enjoy guided sightseeing in Beaune including Les Hospices de Beaune. Alternatively, head to the estate of Chateau de Savigny-les-Beaune to see the collection of fighter planes, race cars and motorcycles. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - Tournus - Macon

Enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent Chateau de Cormatin and its beautiful gardens or sample delicious French truffles in nearby villages before returning to the ship and cruising to Macon. If you wish, you can join a guided cycle tour from Tournus to Macon or join a cooking class in Scenic Culinaire. (B,L,D)

Day 4 - Macon

Macon lies on the banks of the Saone and is renowned for its wines. It has a history dating back 2000 years. Choose to visit the Bresse Museum, sample the wines of the Beaujolais region or visit Cluny, a village built around its Benedictine Abbey. (B,L,D)

Day 5 - Lyon

Lyon is known as the gastronomic capital of France. Discover Lyon's secret passageways and visit the Notre Dame Basilica, head to the medieval hilltop town of Perouges or visit the exclusive culinary school of Paul Bocuse. The Botanical Gardens and Zoo are within cycling distance for those feeling active. This evening, attend the exclusive gala spectacular, Scenic Rouge, under the big-top onshore. Experience the French extravaganza that is the can-can amidst other performances on this unforgettable celebratory evening. (B,L,D)

Day 6 - Tournon

Enjoy a Scenic Sundowner on arrival in Tournon. This pretty village is home to interesting historic buildings including the 18th-century De La Tourette mansion, the Collegiate Church of St Julien and the castle which sits on a rock overlooking the river (B,L,D)

Day 7 - Tournon - Viviers

Today there is the choice between a visit to the wine cave within Tournon Castle to taste the region's fine wines or walking tour of the renowned wine growing centre of Tain L'Hermitage where you can enjoy a tasting at Valrhona Chocolates. Other options are a bike ride to neighbouring villages and a hike with wine tasting. Relax on board this afternoon as you sail past the famous vineyards. Arrive in Viviers this evening. (B,L,D)

Day 8 - Viviers

Enjoy a walking tour of Viviers this morning with a special organ recital. Later, head to the aromatic Lavender Museum or canoe through one of Europe's largest natural canyons. Alternatively, visit Grignan. (B,L,D)

Day 9 - Avignon

Today you'll explore the Chateauneuf-du-Pape, the largest wine region in the southern Rhone area. Sample the wines of the Cotes du Rhone vineyards during a tour then relax on board this afternoon as your ship sails to Avignon. Enjoy a walking tour which includes the Pope's Palace. (B,L,D)

Day 10 - Avignon

Today choose to visit the villages of the Luberon region including the hilltop village of Gordes; take an excursion to Uzes including a visit to the Pont du Gard; or 'Shop with a Chef' joining the chef on a guided visit to a local food market. Scenic Enrich - enjoy an exclusive gala dinner and classical concert at the Pope's Palace. (B,L,D)

Day 11 - La Camargue

Practice your cooking skills in Scenic Culinaire or head to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer and Parc Ornithologique. Alternatively, visit the picturesque village of Aigues-Mortes. This afternoon relax on board as your ship cruises towards the Mediterranean Sea. This evening, there is an onboard performance by a Camargue gypsy band. (B,L,D)

Day 12 - Tarascon

Today you have the choice to tour Arles which has inspired many artists; visit the hilltop village of Les Baux including a visit to an olive farm; or visit the Provencal village of Saint-Remy which was made famous by Vincent Van Gogh, and Saint-Paul de Mausole Monastery. (B,L,D)

Day 13 - Tarascon - UK

After breakfast, disembark and transfer to Marseille airport for your return flight to the UK or take the train from Avignon to Lille and the Eurostar to St Pancras International. (B)
