The Beaujolais region of France, overlapping Burgundy in the north and the Rhone in the south, has been producing some of the most popular wines for many centuries. This luxury all-inclusive cruise along the Rhone includes visits to local winery and a truffle farm for a unique insight into the local areas.

Join your luxury ship in Lyon, where there is a full day to discover this gastronomic capital of France, before cruising to the Beaujolais region. Tournon offers the chance to board the historic Ardeche Steam Train for stunning views of the Ardeche region. See the many ancient features in Avignon including the ramparts built to protect the city in the 1300s, the Palace of the Popes and the Pont du Gard. Continue on to Arles from where you can visit a Provencal olive mill.

A superb choice of guided excursions each day enable you to tailor your experience. There are also two Signature Experiences included - indulge in a feast at L'Abbaye de Collonges which is owned by Michelin-starred chef Paul Bocuse and visit the Pont du Gard for a tour and tasting (2020 only), followed by a cocktail reception accompanied by local musicians.

Rhone Treasures Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Lyon (France)

Fly from the UK to Lyon and board your luxurious river cruise ship. Tonight there is a Welcome Reception on board. (D)

Day 2 - Lyon (France)

Explore Lyon's World Heritage-listed highlights on a guided tour of the city, or join a culinary tour with a trip to a local market and tastings of regional delicacies. There is also the option to take a guided bike ride (2019 only). This evening enjoy a Signature Experience - indulge in a gourmet feast at L'Abbaye de Collonges, a local restaurant owned by Michelin-star chef Paul Bocuse. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - Belleville

Disembark in Belleville and travel through the Beaujolais wine region. Perhaps explore The Dombes and visit a farm before stopping in picturesque Chatillon-sur-Chalaronne, or travel to a family-owned winery in Oingt for a wine tasting. (B,L,D)

Day 4 - Tournon

From Tournon, perhaps see the beauty of the Ardeche Mountains from the Ardeche Steam Train or visit the stunning Eden Park Garden. There is also the option to enjoy an on-board chocolate making demonstration. Later, rejoin the ship and cruise towards Viviers. (B,L,D)

Day 5 - Viviers - Grignan

Visit a truffle farm to head out with the dogs in search of truffles then enjoy a tasting. There is the chance to visit Garde-Adhémar and a family-owned nougat factory, or take an on-board French lesson.(B,L,D)

Day 6 - Avignon

In 2019, today's guided tours include the Palace of the Popes and the Pont du Gard, a 50m high Roman aqueduct. You may choose instead to play a round of golf. Tonight visit the Pont du Gard for a tour and tasting, followed by a cocktail reception accompanied by local musicians. In 2020, perhaps visit the Palace of the Popes or enjoy a round of golf. This evening, there is an exclusive Signature Experience - a tour of the Pont du Gard and local produce tasting, followed by a cocktail reception accompanied by local musicians. (B,L,D)

Day 7 - Avignon - Arles

Head to les Baux-de-Provence for a tour of the castle ruins followed by a visit to an olive mill, or hike through the Camargue National Reserve or tour a 'savon de Marseille' soap factory. Back on board, attend the Captain's Farewell Dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 8 - Arles - UK

Disembark the ship after breakfast and transfer by coach to the airport in Marseilles for your return flight. (B)
