Enjoy a guided tour of this remarkable city to explore the many traces left behind by the Romans. Also, visit the new bridge over the Waal river which was aptly named 'The Crossing' in tribute to the 260 American soldiers who crossed the Waal river in September 1944 to conquer two bridges and the 48 soldiers that died during the 'Waalcrossing'.

Day 3 - Dorfrecht - The Hague

This morning, explore the ancient city of Dorfrecht which holds the title of the oldest city in Holland. Visit the old inner city harbours and the array of monuments during a guided walking tour before sailing to Rotterdam at lunch time. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore The Hague, one of the most extraordinary cities in the Netherlands which houses a wealth of historic monuments including Panorama Mesdag, which gives a 360 degree vista of the sea, the dunes and the fishing village of Scheveningen as it was in 1881.

Day 4 - Rotterdam

Rotterdam showcases an impressive skyline with an abundance of striking buildings which were designed with a daring, forward-thinking approach after WWII. The Erasmus Bridge and the modern skyscrapers along Wilhelminakade pier are spectacular examples of this distinctive architectural style. Embrace the bustling atmosphere of Rotterdam's indoor market and learn about Rotterdam's maritime history. Board an iconic Spido boat and journey along the most fascinating parts of the River Maas and Port of Rot.

Day 5 - Schoonhoven

This morning, discover Schoonhoven's medieval parts and delightful canals during a guided walking tour. Learn about the city's history of silversmiths which dates back to the Middle Ages at the Dutch Silver Museum. Set sail for Arnhem later today.

Day 6 - Arnhem

Spend the morning at the 300 year old Het Loo Palace which is one of the most stunning royal palaces in Holland. Admire its lavishly furnished rooms and meticulously sculpted gardens, all of which offer an interesting insight into royal life over the centuries. This afternoon, learn about the fascinating history of the Battle of Arnhem at the Airborne Museum; the Netherlands only battlefield museum.
