Day 1 - UK - Nuremberg (Germany)

Fly from London Heathrow to Munich and transfer to Nuremberg where you will embark the luxury MS Royal Crown.

Day 2 - Bamberg - Schweinfurt

In Bamberg, admire the Baroque architecture of Schloss Weissenstein and explore its impressive portrait galleries, intricately decorated interior and the 19th century park landscape. The palace is home to one of the largest private collections of old masters in the German-speaking region and contains many invaluable pieces. Allow you experienced tour guide to show you the works of Breughel, Dürer, van Dyck, Rubens and Tizian. This afternoon, head to the Museum Georg Schäfer and admire the private art collection of German industrialist Georg Schäfer. Rejoin the ship in Schweinfurt.

Day 3 - Kitzingen

Kitzingen lies on the banks of the river Main and is the ancient centre of the Franconian wine trade. Enjoy a guided tour of Kitzingen's highlights including the historic, half-timbered houses, the Renaissance Town Hall, the Old Main Bridge, the famous cross chapel of Balthasar Neumann and the Falterturm tower with its crooked dome - the landmark of the city. Savour delicious local wines during a wine tasting before returning to the ship for a relaxing afternoon sail.

Day 4 - Wertheim

Situated at the confluence of the Main and Tauber river, Wertheim am Main is famed for its majestic castle and the medieval buildings of its Old Town. Discover the Bronnbach Monastery which was etablished in 1151 and is one of the best-preserved Cistercian monasteries in southern Germany.

Day 5 - Frankfurt

Visit the Städel Museum which is Germany's oldest museum foundation and showcases around 700-years worth of European art from the 14th century to the present day. Enjoy a guided tour which will highlight many of the Baroque, Renaissance and early modern art pieces from the likes of Pablo Picasso, Rembrandt van Rijn, Wolfgang Tillmans and Claude Monet. Alternatively, spend the day at leisure strolling through Frankfurt’s cobble stone squares and the Römerberg old town centre.

Day 6 - Eltville - Rhine Gorge

This morning, picturesque Eltville, which is known as 'The City of Wine, Sekt and Roses'. A guided walking tour allows you to explore the town's history, visit the gently restored Old Town quarter and the Electoral Castle with its rose garden before enjoying a delicious tasting of local wine and Sekt. This afternoon, cruise the UNESCO World Heritage Rhine Gorge which is an area of outstanding natural beauty with spectacular scenery and hill-top fairy-tale castles.

Day 7 - Koblenz - Bonn

Arrive in Koblenz and journey to the neighbouring town of Lahnstein which is home to the mighty Burg Lahneck castle. Enjoy a private tour of Burg Lahneck which sits on a protruding rock overlooking the town and showcases a combination of medieval fortification and English Gothic Revival. Cruise to Bonn this afternoon, the birthplace of Beethoven. Visit the famous composer's house to enjoy a private recital of his music and exclusive reception.

Day 8 - Bonn - Cologne

From Bonn, head to Brühl and discover the Augustusburg and Falkenlust Palaces which are are among the earliest and best examples of 18th century Rococo architecture in Germany. Explore these incredible palaces which are a UNESCO Site of World Culture and Heritage and marvel at their extensive gardens and park grounds. Spend this afternoon discovering the historic centre of Cologne, home to the outstanding famous cathedral which is still standing proud after being hit by 14 large aerial bombs during World War II. Explore the Cathedral before visiting the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum to see an array of art-history from the past 700 years.

Day 9 - Cologne - UK

After breakfast, disembark the MS Royal Crown and transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
